Channing Tatum Hopes To Make Peter Pan Begins (Really)

by Anthony Miccio

We’re still not sure this isn’t some kind of joke about all the bad-ass rewrites of children’s stories Hollywood is planning (three Snow White movies!). The Hollywood Reporter reports that Channing Tatum is pitching a movie called Peter Pan Begins with producer Joe Roth, who previously brought us Alice In Wonderland and is currently planning Oz, The Great And Powerful with James Franco and Mila Kunis. Don’t forget that Little Red Riding Hood comes out this month and Jeremy Renner‘s Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters is underway. We’ve said it before but…Princess Vs. Pea. Let’s take a meeting, Hollywood.

While we couldn’t resist putting Tatum in green tights, it’s not yet clear whether he’d be acting in the film or producing. Also, the title suggests some kind of gritty prequel to Pete’s adventures with Wendy and the gang, it seems odd that 30-year-old Channing would be playing the eternal boy adventurer. Could he be some studly young Captain Hook instead? The possibilities seem as endless as they seem ridiculous.
