Is Lindsay Lohan contagious? The LA district attorney’s assault case against her fell apart when alleged victim Dawn Holland released contradictory statements and took money from the press. Now Kamofie & Company, the jewelry store Lindsay allegedly stole that necklace from, is headed down the same path. TMZ says Lohan will sue Kamofie after the store sold their security tape of her to the Associated Press for $40,000 (who then sold it to Entertainment Tonight…pretty smooth, AP!). The actress will reportedly argue that she never agreed for the company to profit from her likeness.
Rather than wait to hash the matter out in court, Kamofie has released a hilariously evasive statement, following up on earlier claims that the store sold the Lohan footage to the “non-profit” AP “to allow legitimate journalists and news access to the video” and make up for lost sales. “We regret to hear there is trepidation by Miss Lohan in connection with the video,” said Kamofie’s rep. “We hope that everyone understands that this is beyond our control, the flood of the requests to see this video were simply too overwhelming. It was truly necessary to put it out.” Were they plied with booze? Talk about passing the buck…or rather, the 40k.
