A fan decided to get a little too close to Jake Gyllenhaal while he was in a bathroom at the screening of his film Source Code at SXSW. He was trying to take pictures of the actor and apparently Jakey G totally lost his cool at the handsy photog. Look, we get it. It’s Jake. If we were that close to him, our minds would also scramble. But trying to take a picture when he’s using the facilities? That’s just stupid. Amongst a bunch of people who were at the screening, movie journalist Erik Davis tweeted about the incident, explaining what went down, “Best story I heard tonight was the guy who tried to take a photo of Jake Gyllenhaal at the urinal, and Jake went all badass on him”. This may be an inappropriate time to say it but — swoon. (About him being badass, guys.)
Jake’s rep tried to do some damage control about the throwdown saying, “There was no scuffle, it was an excited fan who tried to take his picture in the restroom. He asked the guy to please delete it and he did! No drama”. His denial was completely shot down because Jake himself admitted that he did get into a fight when Entertainment Weekly asked him, “There are rumors that there was a rather heated scuffle in the theatre bathroom last night as a fan tried to take your picture at an inelegant time?” Instead of making up a story, Jake laughed and admitted, “That’s true. I think it’s an appropriate space to keep some privacy. I hope that people wouldn’t disagree with me on that”. Don’t worry Jake, we agree.
