Tyra — not Tyra Banks, just Tyra — continues to surprise us. She’s moved from America’s Next Top Model to Harvard’s Top Grad Student? Seriously… Tyra’s been going to Harvard Business School since 2010, and told CBS News recently, “In order for my company to grow and be the best, and to reach these women, and to serve them, I needed the bet. So I went to the best.”
It’s been a long time coming for her, as well. She put college at Loyola Marymount University on hold when she was just 17, because her modeling career had taken off. She explained, “The day that I put college on hold because I got discovered to go to Paris and try this whole modeling thing… was one of the most difficult decisions of my entire life.” Don’t feel too bad, Tyra. She made $30 million in 2009 according to Forbes, so the name she picked for her company “Bankable Productions” is right on the money (pun unintended). And it’s never too late to go back to school. As long as she keeps ‘smiling with her eyes’ at her professors we’re predicting straight A’s.
