There might be no other film from our youth that has had such an impact on our lives, our knowledge of history, or our use of slang than Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure. We still can’t eat a big bowl of ice cream without chanting “Zig-gy Pig-gy!” and we often find ourselves referring to Sigmund Freud as The Frood Dude. Last year, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter both teased us with the idea that there could be a third Bill and Ted film in the works, and this week, Keanu goes even further, confirming that the script is almost finished.
The the interview above, Reeves discusses the next Bill and Ted movie, saying “I believe the writers are six weeks away from a draft. … When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened, so they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.” We’d be interested to see these guys revive their old characters, but it just won’t be the same without Rufus, played by George Carlin. Hopefully they don’t revive him with CGI holograms or something, that would not be so excellent.
