We are extremely pleased to hear that Charlie Sheen organized a bipolar awareness walk for tonight. It certainly sounds better than a perp walk or walk of shame or any other kind of walk we would have imagined Sheen doing this weekend. Currently in Toronto, Charlie tweeted for his fans to come meet him at his hotel to travel en masse to the performance hall for tonight’s “My Violent Torpedo of Truth” performance. “The walk is scheduled for tonight “Bipolar Awareness Walk!! Come join me at 6pm and walk with me from The Ritz Carlton to Massey Hall..! Show your support..!! #BIWINNING ybw,” Sheen said on Twitter. “Taking donations tonight for O.B.A.D. THE ORGANIZATION FOR BIPOLAR AFFECTIVE DISORDERS through CanadaHelps.org I’m matching all Donations!!” Match donations? Charlie has 3.5 million followers. If people take him up on his offer, he’s going to have to tour for the next 400 years just to keep his promise.
When questioned about his own mental state in the past, Sheen denied being bipolar. That being said, he has adopted the catchphrase “Biwinning!” after some suggested he had the mental illness. While Sheen’s Two And A Half Men future remains unclear, this sounds like a massive step forward in rehabilitating his reputation. Or more accurately, it sounds like hundreds of smaller steps while a warlock army shouts your name as you raise money for charity. Which is what biwinning must really look like, anyway.
