It’s going to be a minute before we want to talk Terminator 5 again, Arnold. Movie legend and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed to the LA Times that he fathered a child out of wedlock ten years ago with a now-retired member of his family’s household staff. “After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife [Maria Shriver] about this event, which occurred over a decade ago,” said Schwarzenegger in a statement. “I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused.” Shriver and Schwarzenegger announced their separation earlier this month after 25 years of marriage.

Schwarzenegger has reportedly provided financial support for the child with his unnamed staffer, who previously claimed her then-husband was the father. “I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family,” said the governor, who has expressed a desire to return to acting after leaving office. “I am truly sorry. I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time. While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not.” Schwarzenegger was accused of sexual misconduct, including non-consensual groping, by several women before his 2003 election to office.
