You know, it’s possible that Leonardo DiCaprio & Blake Lively are just fast friends. After all, they’ve got a lot in common. Leo’s a respected A-list actor who enjoys the company of glamorous fashionplates. Blake’s a glamorous fashionplate who’d like to be an A-list actor. Gossip Girl‘s Ed Westwick is in his new J. Edgar movie, too—there’s plenty to talk about! Our point is that Page Six spotting Leo & Blake at Cannes, walking “around the grounds together” and “looking like a couple,” doesn’t mean anything. There are plenty of reasons a newly unattached superstar playboy would be spending time with a hot-to-trot aspiring actress. Projects and stuff.
As you might remember, Page Six said Leo and Blake were flirting in January, at the same Jeremy Renner birthday party a drunk Christina Aguilera notoriously crashed (seriously, Renner is a megastar now). With Bar Refaeli having left her post as Leo’s long-suffering sidepiece, it certainly would be advantageous for an ambitious young thing like Blake to take Bar’s place at the occasional Lakers game. Here’s hoping she likes long conversations with Kevin Connolly and Lukas Haas!
