Most rumors about Brangelina’s private life involve Brad Pitt being a bit subservient (our favorite is the one where he’s Angelina Jolie‘s sex slave), so it’s nice to hear him talk about his giant family—something Jolie had already started building before he even showed up—as something he’s always wanted. “I know it seems extreme from the outside, but I’ve always kind of operated this way,” he told the AP at Cannes. “I had a friend who had a big family when I was a kid. I just loved the chaos around the breakfast table and the fighting and the ribbing, and the mom making pancakes for everyone or the dad making pancakes. And I just decided then if I was ever going to do it—this left some indelible mark on me—if I was ever going to do it, that’s the way I was going to do it.” Awww…we feel like buying them another kid after reading that.
That’s just the kind of mush that makes us think Pitt’s next dream—of making more movies with mama—would be a great idea. “We’d like to, because right now, we’re hopscotching with films so one can be with the kids and one’s free to work. And why aren’t we doing them together? Why aren’t we doing everything together?” Word! Sure, they’d run the risk of looking even more like a Liz Taylor/Richard Burton re-run, but The Tourist likely would have had better chemistry with Brad playing Johnny Depp‘s role. Any movie with both stars would likely be expensive as all hell, but it’s been a long time since Mr. & Mrs. Smith destroyed Jennifer Aniston‘s marriage—how about a sequel with six kids?
