Remember last year, when we had no idea who Jennifer Lawrence was? How times have changed. The Oscar-nominated actress has allegedly beaten out some tough competition to become the first choice for the female lead in director David O. Russell‘s next film, The Silver Linings Playbook. Russell is also an Oscar nominee; his last film The Fighter was an awards show darling this year.
Lawrence has apparently beaten out her A-List peers, including Elizabeth Banks, Kirsten Dunst, Blake Lively, Rooney Mara, Rachel McAdams, Andrea Riseborough and Olivia Wilde, and Indie Wire reports the role is hers if she wants it. The actress, currently filming The Hunger Games, would play a woman depressed over the loss of her husband, who later becomes a love interest for Mark Wahlberg‘s character, a former teacher recently released from a mental institute.
