Well, we can be sure of at least one thing regarding Amy Winehouse’s death: there’s no possible cause that won’t be incredly sad. Currently the singer’s family is alleging that Amy Winehouse’s death was due to seizures brought on from her withdrawal from alcohol. “She had a series of seizures brought on by this binge drinking and then stopping to drink….I think it’s what the doctor said, I think she had a seizure and this was the time when there was no one there to rescue her,” the singer’s father Mitch Winehouse claims on Anderson Cooper’s new show Anderson, which premieres today. Let’s see…yup, yes, that is still heart-breaking.
Mitch, along with Amy Winehouse‘s mother Janis Winehouse, use their interview with Cooper to defend their claim that the Back In Black singer had not done drugs in three years, as well as promote their newly-formed Amy Winehouse Foundation. Says Winehouse’s father, “We are hoping to raise money, we will raise money for disadvantaged children suffering with drug abuse, illl health,” i.e. the only thing that would make this whole affair any less deeply, deeply tragic.
