SIMPSONS MIGHT DO IT: Fox Considering An All-Simpsons Network

Here’s a piece of news that’s equal parts grandiose, brilliant, and seemingly inevitable — Fox has reportedly considered turning its vast back-catalogue of Simpsons episodes into their own channel:

Carey said there have been a “number of meetings” to determine how to capitalize on its library of episodes of The Simpsons and he mentioned a digital channel featuring nothing but Homer and the gang as being a possibility. Carey said it is incumbent on the company to take advantage of a show that is “unique in television with a volume, too, that is unprecedented.”

This clearly would be a more useful station than probably about 11,080 of the 11,085 or so channels I currently get — the only caveat is they’d have to take my friend Steve’s suggestion and have the viewing guide clarify between “Old Good Simpsons” or “New Crappy Simpsons” (and an additional “Even Newer Simpsons That Are Pretty Funny Again But We’re Way Out Of Plots”).

Obviously I’m me so I’m biased, but let’s make this happen! All that’s left is picking a name. KBBL? Compuglobalhypermeganet? Krazy Klown Airlines? Rand McNally? Bitey? Stitch-Face? Grandpa’s Little Helper? Flim Springfield?

Feel free to throw other Channel name suggestions in the comments. Now we play the waiting game! Ahhh, the waiting game sucks – let’s play Hungry Hungry Hippos.
