Last night, Russell Brand joined the ranks of famous folk showing support for the Occupy Wall Street crowd. We’d insert some joke about the life lessons he learned about America’s great class divide while on the set of Arthur, except ole Rusty already has a history of supporting anti-capitalist protests (and this is a real history, not like the one we made up for Penn Badgley). Back in 2009 he appeared at the G20 protests in London. So there, celebrity skeptics. He also tweeted his support of protesters in London last week.
Wife Katy Perry also took to Twitter to co-sign Russell’s participation. “i know my hubby @rustyrockets is there now…still… reppin us both! Tell him to call his wife if you see him! lolz.”
One thing, Katy. Next time the husband goes out into a protest in the rain, make sure he brings an umbrella or a jacket. Maybe the clear plastic bag was a statement of solidarity, but it’s also just silly.
