Heaven just got a little more new jack swing. Rapper/actor Heavy D died at a Los Angeles Hospital earlier today of a yet-undisclosed cause. According to TMZ, a 911 call reporting an unconscious male in the walkway of his Beverly Hills home was made at 11:25 a.m. He was conscious when paramedics arrived but died shortly after being transported to the hospital.
Heavy (born Dwight Arrington Myers) had lost a lot of weight later in his career, but we’re glad he kept the name. Like many rappers after him, he also had a lengthy acting résumé that included roles in the Eddie Murphy/Martin Lawrence flick Life, Boston Public, The Cider House Rules and most recently, Tower Heist.
