Scarlett Johansson seems like an even-keeled lady for the most part; even in her film roles she tends to go with either “calm, sexy ingenue” or “calm, sexy superheroine” or “calm, sexy zookeeper.” Just whatever you do, never call her ScarJo to her face. “Oh, it’s awful,” Johansson told USA Today about her catchy moniker. “It’s a laziness. People can’t actually say the whole name? It’s just bizarre.” On the flip side, Scarlett, it gives you instant name recognition. A think tank full of scientists probably got paid millions of dollars to create the term “JLo,” and look at her now! She’s doing pretty well!
The We Bought A Zoo star even pressed the issue with her interviewer, pondering why Daniel Day-Lewis isn’t “DaDay” or Cate Blanchett isn’t “CaBla.” Um, because we hadn’t though of that yet? Thanks, Scar…oh wait. Too soon. That being said, if Johansson really is repulsed by her nickname, we can at least come up with a new one for her. What would be an appropriately calm, sexy alternative?
