Brandy And Monica Praise Whitney Houston, Rely On Their “Unity” To Cope

|

Whitney Houston’s death this past weekend came as a shock not only her fans, but to those who knew her as a real-life friend and mentor. For Brandy and Monica, learning of Whitney’s passing just days after she visited them at a rehearsal for Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy party last Thursday has been a struggle. “Our faith, our strength, and also our unity…has kept us in well enough spirits to do what it is she would have wanted us to do,” Monica explained on the set of their upcoming “It All Belongs to Me” video on Monday.

Luckily, the singers have been able to lean on each other for support as they deal with their shock, as well as look to the tenacious Ms. Houston for guidance. “Giving up was not an option. It was just the way that she lived. I think she would expect that of us,” Monica said, concluding, “We’re learning to cope, with one another.”
