Like there was even a question: Dwayne Johnson is reportedly in talks to star in Brett Ratner‘s upcoming version of Hercules. Variety reports the the G.I. Joe: Retaliation actor would star a movie adaptation based on the 2008 graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian War. The man was already a literal scorpion king; a mythological demigod seems like the next logical step in The Rock’s film career.
We already knew Johnson has been killing it recently (to the point where he’s brought up running for President. In public), but this would be the seventh role he has lined up between now and 2014, including parts in The Fast and the Furious 6 and Michael Bay‘s action film Pain and Gain. Johnson was also rumored for the role of Goliath across from Taylor Lautner’s David, because seriously, who else would they cast? Can you suggest someone who would be even half as good? We’ll wait! We’ll wait all night!
