When I turned 18, I got a pair of Rollerblades and a pack of cigarettes. And wow, times have changed. For his 18th birthday, Justin Bieber got a Fisker Karma, an electric sports car that costs upwards of $100,000. But rather than be jealous, we’re kind of touched by the gift — because of the meaningful way Bieber’s manager Scooter presented it to him on Ellen, in an episode that will air today.
“He does things, I mean, 86 shows through North America, he met with a Make-a-Wish kid every show for 86 shows. And his one request was no cameras. He does it for the right reasons,” Scooter said, describing a visit Bieber had with a 5-year-old cancer patient last week.
Scooter went on to describe how he and Usher, Bieber’s mentor, wanted to reward him for his continued selflessness with something (contradictorily) flashy as well as environmentally friendly. You can see in the photo above how Bieber was surprised and confused and excited as he anticipated what that meant. Then he turned around and saw the shiny black vehicle rolled out before him, showroom style. He seemed to want to start it up and drive off right then and there. Though he did thank Scooter first … and pretended to thank Ellen for the visor and bobblehead doll she gave him.
Not that Biebs’ previous ride was a jalopy, btw. The old Batmobile Cadillac CTS V-Coupe goes for about $90,000. Check it out among our 10 favorite young celebs’ fancy whips.
