Lindsay Lohan’s Today Show Interview Makes Us Want To Hire Her

|

Whoa, guys. Maybe we drank Matt Lauer’s Kool-Aid, but we’re finding ourselves completely blown away by Lindsay Lohan’s interview on Today this morning. Disconcerting plastic surgery and bangs aside, Lindsay looked poised, confident and just the right amount of humbled as she spoke openly about the past couple years and how she plans to rehabilitate her image after feeling like she’s rehabilitated her self.

“This last whirlwind of experiences this past year and a half, I’ve kind of just taken a step back and been like, I’m not doing what I love to do and I need to find a way to find that balance again,” she said. As if she were speaking before a judge, or maybe a casting director, Lindsay repeated how much she wants to work again and acknowledged that she has to do a lot to make people want to hire her.

“I think that takes time. It takes actions. I need to go through the process of proving myself. With SNL, with being on time, keeping my … stuff together,” she said, admitting that she emailed Lorne Michaels repeatedly to convince him to have her host this week’s episode.

“I could see where it could be scary for people to invest in me,” she said later, after confirming that her next project is playing Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime movie. “I don’t want people to have that reason to be scared anymore.”

Perhaps the most believable moment in the interview was when Lauer asked what she hoped to be talking about if she appeared on the show again in five years. “Hopefully, I’ve just come from the Oscars,” she said, but then more modestly added, “I want to be able to work to the point where I can go on vacation with my family, and then have the premieres and be happy for that. I love that feeling and being able to share what I love to do with people who go see the film. I want that.”

“Do you miss that?” Lauer asked. “Yeah, completely,” she said, sounding almost close to tears.

OMG, did she just give the best performance of her life? Or are we really seeing the new Lindsay Lohan? We need your guidance on this, our judgment is clearly fogged.
