Dan Harmon is so sorry he unleashed his Dan Harmon all over Chevy Chase a few months ago, he finally posted a Jeff Winger-style diatribe on his Tumblr yesterday. In the post, the Community creator apologizes for how he “made the horrible, childish, self-obsessed, unaware, naive and unprofessional decision to play someone’s voicemail to me” at his stand-up show Harmontown. In case you haven’t heard said voicemail from Chevy, knock yourself out. It’s NSFW unless you work at a fat f*ck factory of some kind.
The post is hella TL;DR unless you are very emotionally connected to the situation, which you might be if you reading this, Dan Harmon. If not, some highlights include:
- “I’m really not supposed to be commenting on the situation, which I think is great advice, because anything I say will extend the story’s life and cause more fans discomfort. But as a guy who blogs or tweets every time he wipes his butt, hugs his cat or hurts his girlfriend, it’s conspicuously weird of me to say nothing at all about the giant fart with my name on it that you’ve been inhaling.” Ah, it’s burning our (emotional) lungs!
- “Even the people that hate the show that are tweeting heckles at me are right, I’m a selfish baby and a rude asshole and not a person to trust with your feelings.” As if hecklers needed any encouragement, Dan! Well, I do. Sometimes I feel like I’m just heckling into the void…
- “That was a dumb, unclassy, inconsiderate move on my part. I’m very sorry it’s reflecting poorly on the show.” Aw, don’t worry, Harmon! America will keep watching. I just know Pierce’s funeral is going to be amazing!
