Not that this is the most shocking news ever, but we like to see our fave actors and musicians on the top of all the lists they deserve to be on, OK? And this one in particular shows how much of our hard-earned money has gone into their pockets in the past year. London’s Sunday Times is coming out with its big Rich List in a couple of weeks, but today they released the subcategories of Brits age 30 and under. Adele’s massively successful 21 placed her at the top of the musicians list, with her fortune worth 20 million pounds, or about $32 million. Less-globally successful ladies Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis and Katie Melua are way behind her, tied for #2 with 12 million pounds apiece.
Adele’s wealth is less than half of the fortunes at the top of the actors list. Daniel Radcliffe is worth 54 million pounds ($86 million), with 6 million pounds coming in last year from the last Harry Potter flick and, to a lesser extent, from The Woman in Black and his Broadway run in How to Succeed. And close on his heels is Robert Pattinson, who is worth a reported 40 million pounds, or $64 million. If we have to explain where his dough comes from, you are reading the wrong blog. Keira Knightley is not just #3 on the actors list — her work for Chanel makes her #1 on the model list two, with a 30 million fortune. Is that even fair to the models whose fortunes didn’t come from Pirates of the Caribbean? Oh well. The point here seems to be: Break out of the U.K. and sell lots of things and you will become very, very rich. Genius!
