Is it a good thing or a bad thing when a remake looks almost identical to the original? On one hand, it could make for an interesting twist on an old classic. On the other hand, completely reinventing a great film can end in disaster. (Total Recall remake, we’re not even looking at you here because you do not deserve it.) Fortunately, it seems like the Carrie remake starring Chloe Moretz is leaning towards the former. “FirstLook!! #Carrie #WhatHappenedToCarrie #JulianneMoore,” Moretz tweeted excitedly earlier today, and from our horror-flick-trained peepers, these images have a feel very similar to the first Carrie, in the best way possible.
In fact, as far as we can tell the only difference between these photos and the original movie is the fact that Julianne Moore still looks as much like a hottie bombalottie in Crazy Religious Nut Mom mode as she does every other second of her life. Maybe even more so? So what do you think? Check out the original trailer for Brian De Palma’s Carrie after the jump. Does Chloe’s version look good so far, or just look like something of a repeat? Man, we hope Carrie’s mom still calls them “dirty pillows.” It would be a travesty if she didn’t!
