Andy Samberg’s Cuckoo Trailer Reminds Us That This Year’s SNL Alums Are Still Bringing The Guffaws

“Would you like to know the longest journey I’ve ever taken? It was the one into my own mind.” We always knew Andy Samberg would make an absolutely amazing dirty hippie, and the new trailer for his upcoming BBC show Cuckoo confirms those unconscious instincts. Honestly, no matter what his role would end up being, we couldn’t be happier to see Andy mugging for the camera again. Just because he left SNL doesn’t mean we want him to leave our hearts! Samberg will also be appearing in Aubrey Plaza‘s The To Do List next Valentine’s Day and Adam Sandler‘s Grown Ups 2 next year, in addition to portraying some kind of cartoon baby in Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers, currently filming for a 2014 release date. In fact, it looks like all the recent SNL alums are going to be appearing on a screen of some particular size in the next few months. Thank the Comedy Lord…

After leaving the show at the end of last season, Kristen Wiig has upgraded her Gilly wig to, um, a big screen wig (generally acknowledged to possess the finest wig quality of all of wigdom). Wiig has already filmed Imogene, starring as “a playwright [who] stages a suicide in an attempt to win back her ex, only to wind up in the custody of her gambling-addict mother” across from Darren Criss

As well as across from Ben Stiller in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty….

She also voiced Miss Hattie in Despicable Me 2 because girl’s gotta get paid! Next year Wiig will be appearing with Paul Rudd and Christopher Walken in Freezing People is Easy, as well as The Comedian, which stars Sean Penn as an “aging, insult” comic.

Meanwhile, if you need to get your sweet, sweet Abby Elliott fix, her next gig will be as a crazy, sexy crazy person on How I Met Your Mother. “We’re thrilled to have the hilarious Abby Elliott joining us in an arc as Janeane, the craziest girl the HIMYM gang has ever encountered. And the strange, inexplicable phenomenon is: the crazier Janeane gets, the more attractive one of the gang finds her,” the show’s executive producer Craig Thomas told EW back in August. “It doesn’t end well.” Now someone get this girl some cartoon voiceover work! And more jobs with Neil Patrick Harris, please!
