So, it seems that this Elle Women In Hollywood shindig is pretty big because everyone turns up for them every year. We’re normally suckers for the amazing fashion at first, but this year — the event was at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills — some real doozies got us so riled up that we just had to get them out of our systems. Lea Michele, what were you thinking? That’s a Zimmermann dress and body suit and it’s all wrong. She looks like she’s got curtain blinds hanging off her. When Lea gets it wrong, she really does get it spectacularly wrong because this dress borders cray-town. Julianne Hough also really needs to get her makeup and hair right because she ends up with a face that looks far too old. She’s done that dark berry lip before and it didn’t do her any favors then, either. That Calvin Klein Collection dress isn’t doing her any favors as well, and nor are the shoes of the same brand. The frock looks poorly constructed and we don’t want to be seeing her bra, really. It hurts us to say that Nina Dobrev — who is normally so well-dressed — made a severe misstep with that Vera Wang dress with the random lace paneling for a hem. It would have been a completely different dress without it. We’re okay with her Jimmy Choos, but the real crime is the hair that really doesn’t work with anything and that irks us. Rounding up the quartet of shame is Jennie Garth, whose biggest mistake is looking far too cutesy and twee in her Tadashi Shoji gown. The combination of that floppy bow, the lace and no color to give relief makes the whole thing wash her out. Some of you may disagree with us, but we honestly think this is better suited to someone in their late teens and not a sexy, gorgeous woman of 40. Better luck next time, ladies.
