We know all know Jennifer Aniston got her start running in terror from a tiny evil leprechaun in, you know, Leprechaun, but did you know that most A-listers have a crappy horror film lurking in their past somewhere? From Paul Rudd to Jack Black, Demi Moore to Amy Adams, the biggest names in Hollywood have at one point been covered in corn syrup blood and chased by a prop chainsaw. So enjoy 10 amazing actors and actresses who had to pay their dues at the business end of a fake meat cleaver. Our personal favorite? Julianne Moore. Can anyone name a dumber movie death than hers? We honestly want to know!
1) Paul Rudd, Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers (1995)
It would be so cute to see Paul Rudd carrying a baby! Unless of course he’s carrying a baby while sprinting down a hospital corridor to escape Michael Myers in this 1995 horror film. That would be significantly less adorable.
2) Michelle Williams, Species (1995)
The titular human-alien hybrd in this 1995 sci-fi flick bore a striking resemblance to Michelle Williams, who you can see breaking out of a military compound in the trailer. Go go, Alien Tween Michelle Williams.
3) Mila Kunis, Piranha (1995)
12-year-old Mila Kunis attempts to rescue her camp mates from hungry piranha in this low-budget horror flick, with horrible mixed results.
4) Julianne Moore: Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (1990)
Is it wrong that we are obsessed with Julianne Moore’s look in Tales From the Dark Side: The Movie? The woman literally hasn’t aged in 20 years, nor has her co-star Christian Slater. It’s good we have something to distract us, seeing as how Moore dies literally the worst movie death of all time in her story within the anthology. On the other hand, if you switch out Julianne for Madonna and chrysanthemums for hydrangea…it kind of makes sense.
5) Mischa Barton, The Sixth Sense (1999)
While most of these movies are, for lack of a better word, kind of terrible, we take our hats off to Mischa Barton for killing it as a horrifying ghost trying to contact Haley Joel Osment for help in The Sixth Sense.
6) Amy Adams, Psycho Beach Party (2000)
Amy Adams probably wishes no one remembered her bottomless turn in the campy slasher flick Psycho Beach Party, but it takes a talented performer to give a convincing pantsless break-up speech.
7) Demi Moore, Parasite (1982)
Demi Moore gives a convincing turn as a woman distraught to have some kind of gross leech monster leap all over her in this early horror sci-fi film.
8) Jack Black, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
Actually, we kind of understand why Jack Black’s Rasta stoner had to die in this 1998 horror flick. Reason #1: that shirt.
9) Tom Hanks, He Knows You’re Alone (1980)
We like to be scared, but seeing the star of Big grapple with humanity’s existential fear of death inadvertently makes this movie a comedy. Want a Goober?
10) Brad Pitt, Cutting Class (1989)
After seeing Tree of Life, we can’t even fathom tiny baby Brad being this young in this 1989 teen horror flick. We’re just kidding! We didn’t see Tree of Life. Party on, Baby Brad! While you still can!
