Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion Reunion Campaign Is Under Way, And We Are Fully Onboard

Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino want to do a Romy and Michele's High School Reunion sequel.

When last we saw Romy (Mira Sorvino) and Michele (Lisa Kudrow), they had turned their failed lie about inventing Post-It notes into very successful careers as fashion boutique owners. They were supposed to be only 28 at the time, and a lot can happen between ages 28 and 43 — which is how old they’d be now. Even if you aren’t a superfan of the 1997 cult classic Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, you have to admit, objectively speaking, that there is plenty of room for a story about the ladies’ 25th high school reunion.

Not that we’re being objective here. We first got excited about the possibility of a reunion last month, when Sorvino visited VH1′s Big Morning Buzz Live and said she was fully onboard with doing a sequel.

“It’s all about the studio saying, ‘Yes, we’d like to do a sequel,’ ” she told host Carrie Keagan, before teaching her how to do one of the dynamic duo’s famous dance moves. “And we have a lot of fan support. It’s really a cult classic. If people write to Disney and say, ‘We want a Romy and Michele Reunion 2,’ then it’ll happen. That’s the only way it’s going to happen.”

She isn’t alone in this campaign, either. Yesterday, the fan-run Twitter account @RomyMichele posted this message about support from both Sorvino and Kudrow, rallying fans to the cause.

So, what do you say, guys? Are you ready to bombard Disney with requests? Maybe this will convince you.
