Are Reporters Baiting Ashley Greene Into Lamenting Her Dating Life, Or Does She Genuinely Feel Bad?

Look, we all want to complain about our dating lives all the time. To the UPS delivery person, to the barista, to the guy sitting next to us on the subway with his legs at a 90 degree angle for no reason whatsoever. We try not to though, just because “Debbie Downer” is not a hot look on anybody. So we guess our question is, are interviewers constantly cornering Breaking Dawn star Ashley Greene about her (seemingly hopeless) love life, or is Ashley just currently in that zone where all she can talk about is how lame her dating life is? Either way, we sympathize. Oh wait, no. Just with the second scenario. We don’t have that many interviewers pounding down our door…

We only ask because this month’s British GQ is the second time this month that Greene has lamented her lack of romantic entanglements. “Dating is a hard, hard thing when you have this job,” she sighs in the mag. “Sometimes I wish I could just go back to Florida and, like, date my home-town boyfriend. It’s really frustrating whenever I can’t go and do something because I know it’s going to be on the internet.” It probably doesn’t help that news cropped up last week that Greene and manfriend Reeve Carney are now splitsville. Oh, and if you think Ashley has a new boyfriend already, she wants to make sure you know you’re wrong. “Like if I go to a friend’s house, they’ll be, ‘She’s dating him!’ It’s like, ‘Oh, am I dating my brother now? Is that what’s happening?,’” she explains. “Or when they write that I was with a ‘mystery man,’ and I’m like, ‘He’s gay, by the way, so it is a mystery!’” Okay, these reporters have to be grilling Ashley about her love life, right? If they weren’t, you’d think she’d stick to vampires, werewolves and how sick her cheekbones look in these photos. They’re just natural conversation topics!
