While Cee Lo Green is still being investigated for sexual battery by the LAPD, we thought we’d recap some of the he-said-she-said we’ve learned from TMZ over the past few days. After all, this is a guy gracing our homes on The Voice twice a week, and we’d like to know what’s going on, whether he’s guilty or innocent.
She said: Cee Lo took her to a Los Angeles sushi restaurant in July and they had drinks together. She blacked out and woke up in a bed with the “F— You” singer in the room. She went to the police and filed a report. Then then called Cee Lo and recorded the conversation in which he apologized to her and made references to MDNA (a.k.a. ecstasy), according to TMZ’s source. But he didn’t actually say he’d given it to her.
He (and other people) said: When the accusation was first made public earlier this week, Cee Lo flatly denied it and said he hadn’t been to the restaurant in three months. (But July was more than three months ago, so that doesn’t help.) His lawyers say that if there were any admission to a crime on a phone recording, he’d been in jail already. Anyone with common knowledge of drugs says that you don’t typically pass out from X. Some other sources are saying that the woman went to a civil lawyer before going to police. Still others say she had her lawyer ask his manager if Cee Lo had any STDs, and it wasn’t until after he refused to answer that she went to the police.
God, we really hate to pile onto outside speculation in a matter of sexual assault, but if it’s true, we’d also hate for this to be swept under the rug.
