We thought we’d serve you with the bad news before the good news. The worst-dressed list before the best-dressed, that is. The event we’re discussing is the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, which went down in Santa Monica, California yesterday. Lot’s of foot-falls on the red carpet, some great, some not-so-great, but three stand out as really not great. Not that these three ladies aren’t absolutely lovely, but we’re hoping they do better next time. We’ll start with Famke Janssen, who is smoking hot, but that John Galliano Fall 2012 gown was not the right match for her. It seemed better left on the runaway. Perhaps if Famke had committed more to the look, it would have worked? A dress like that needs drama and a certain carriage, and he actress just let her makeup and hair fall flat which did not give the ensemble a necessary boost. Then we have Elle Fanning in the middle. We get that the young actress likes taking risks, but her youth and inexperience is revealed in her footwear choices. She’s wearing Chanel Spring 2013 from top-to-bottom, but the shoes just don’t fit here. Something lighter would have uplifted the floral, strapless shift. We love her and her smile, though. Another fashion-forward star made a misstep here — Amanda Seyfried. She often takes on avant garde outfits on and we give her props for trying. But she is not, in any way, working that cornflower blue Marios Schwab Spring 2013 gown. The black Roger Vivier sandals leave us cold as well. Until next time, ladies.
