Tina Fey, Amy Poehler Rip on Celebs At The Golden Globes

Oh, it’s everything we dreamed and more. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler went full Gervais in the Golden Globes opener, ragging on everyone from James Franco to Quentin Tarantino to, well, Ricky Gervais. While we are bound to hear about 1,000 more excellent jibs before the end of the awards ceremony, here are the seven best zingers from tonight’s Golden Globes opener:

Everyone in the room: “You can smell the pills from here!”

Everyone on TV: “It’s the only night when the beautiful people of film rub shoulders with the rat-faced people of television.” (Cut to Quentin Tarantino…then Sofia Vergara.)

Ricky Gervais: “Ricky Gervais could not be here tonight, because he is no longer technically in show business.”

James Cameron: In reference to Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow: “When it comes to to torture, I trust the lady who was married for three years to James Cameron.”

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association: “When left treated, HFPA can lead to cervical cancer.”

James Franco: In reference to Les MiserablesAnne Hathaway, I have not seen someone so totally alone and abandoned like that since you were onstage with James Franco at the Oscars.”

Quentin Tarantino: “Quentin Tarantino is here, the star of all my sexual nightmares.”
