Patrick Dempsey was inspired by his mother’s courage during her battle with ovarian cancer. He founded the Patrick Dempsey Center For Cancer Hope & Healing and began The Dempsey Challenge, the organization’s autumn bike race.
Daniel Maree, who spearheaded the Million Hoodies campaign following Trayvon Martin‘s death, won a $100,000 grant at last night’s ceremony. See more about his organization in the video above.
