However, there are other mysteries about Coulson that were teased in The Avengers that have yet to be revealed. For instance, will we meet the elusive cellist in Portland that Agent Coulson is so keen on? “God, I hope so!” Gregg said. “I think it’s unavoidable.”
Admittedly, Gregg was only in the middle of filming episode five when he spoke to us, but he already had some idea about whether or not the series would have a big bad or a “monster of the week.”
“From what I can tell in the five episodes we’ve shot, it seems like the answer to that will be ‘all of the above.’ There certainly will be some episodes that have to do with some nefarious character connected to the Marvel Universe showing up, either trying to obtain some post-Avengers technology or superpowers or showing up with some of their own from one of the universes that’s unleashed on the world from The Avengers.”
Gregg also shared that he wouldn’t be surprised if some of Hydra’s forces showed up, but on a personal fan-boy level, he would love to interact with the heroes and villains of Guardians of the Galaxy. “I was a fan of some of those comics. It seems like a stretch, but I hope after that [movie], some of Thanos’ cronies show up.”
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres tonight, September 24, at 8 pm ET on ABC.
