Here is another gem in the mix for Friday’s show. Real Housewives of New York‘s Kelly thinks running in New York is exhilarating. But actual real life cabbies of New York probably find it really really annoying:

Yes, we’ll admit that Brittany Murphy‘s movies aren’t going to win any Oscars… remember Little Black Book and Just Married? But on this week’s Lifetime original movie Nora Robert’s Tribute, we felt as though this old man took his opinion of Brittany Murphy’s film career a little too far:
On Sunday’s Amazing Race the contestants were in Bangkok, Thailand and while most of the teams opted to perform the karaoke challenge with some Thai lady men, the mother/son team of Margie and Luke had to take option 2. The challenge was billed as a part of everyday life in Bangkok, but as you’ll see from this clip… everyday life in Bangkok is gross.
Tune into Best Week Ever Friday at 11pm to see if this clip made the cut!
While digging through Monday’s best television, everyone at Best Week Ever was particularly impressed by just how unimpressed this little prodigy was with the Today Show anchors. She is already on the short list for this Friday’s show. Pay very close attention to her patronizing clapping at the end of the clip:
In the meantime, catch up with Paul’s very own video blog. It’s a secret glimpse behind the curtain of BWE with PFT.
This week’s episode of Best Week Ever featured the song “I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked” by Ida Maria, a fiery Norwegian who currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden. Sweden has a bustling music scene these days, boasting artists like Jens Lekman, The Knife, Peter Bjorn and John, and Love Is All. The closest comparison to what Ida is creating is Josephine Olausson of the aforementioned Love Is All. They’re both making kick ass rock music and happen to be ladies.Â
The cleverly titled “ILYSMBWYN” (for short?) is among the standouts on Maria’s album Fortress Round My Heart (available digitially on March 24th). Also check out the awesome “Oh My God” (which you will not be able to stop listening to).
Ida Maria will be appearing at Perez Hilton’s South By Southwest Showcase (?) and will also soon be supporting NME ‘next big thing’ Glasvegas on tour.
I imagine an Ida Maria show to be a sweaty, drunken affair so it’s in your best interest to see her live. Â

This week’s show opened with the song “Daylight†from Matt & Kim’s new album Grand. “Daylight†begins with Matt singing about cutting his pants into shorts and throwing his shoes into the ocean (which are both things I believe he does frequently) but also includes a bit of introspection. We’ve been listening to Matt & Kim for the past few years and it’s fantastic to see how they’ve developed, yet maintained their strong sense of unbridled optimism and fun (check out “Yea Yeah” from their first album).
Matt & Kim does in fact consist of a dude named Matt and his girlfriend, Kim. On the album, they stick to their basics: Matt on the synth/keys, and Kim provides percussion but some of their songs shockingly cross the 3 minute mark. Besides “Daylightâ€, other standouts include “I Wanna†(which does clock in at 1:38), “Don’t Slow Down,†and “Lessons Learned†(with Kim sharing vocal duties). They prove there’s definitely room for another guy/girl band to join your Mates of State/Rosebuds/Captain & Tennilles of the world.
You don’t have to live in Brooklyn on Grand Street (which the album is named after) to enjoy this album, but I DO live on Grand Street and enjoy the album so eat it.
