Unresolved plot threads? Sounds like a problem for someone who gives a crap! Laurence Fishburne is leaving CSI, according to Deadline, despite the opportunity to renew his contract. The Matrix actor joined the cast in 2008, following the departure of long time lead William Petersen. Fishburne has two high profile movies, Thurgood and Contagion, planned for release this year. Coincidentally, Law & Order SVU lead Christopher Meloni also decided to not to return to his hit crime procedural for the 2011-2012 season.
While the site’s source doesn’t sound shocked, “nobody expected him to be on the show for 7 years, it’s Laurence Fishburne,” they obviously didn’t see it coming when they filmed last season’s finale, in which his character murders a serial killer in cold blood. Apparently any resolution to that plot will have to happen off screen, presumably with his Ray Langston being sent to the slammer unseen. Hopefuly CBS will remember this lesson with Ashton Kutcher—Charlie may have been on a plane to Paris at the end of last season, but Two And A Half Men can’t hope to be so lucky again.
With Fast Five scoring far bigger numbers than any previous Fast & The Furious movie, it’s clear that a little Rock won’t hurt your action franchise. So it’s not shocking to learn that Dwayne Johnson may appear in the GI Joe sequel, possibly as the popular character Roadblock. There should be plenty of room for the former wrestler, as it’s been rumored that only a few of the characters from the first movie will be returning, with Channing Tatum‘s Duke the most likely. While the first film was a definite success, there was plenty of room for improvement—we’re especially glad no one’s calling for Marlon Wayans to come back—and J0hnson would be an easy way to go about that.
As for the franchise that made this all possible, the odds for a sixth Fast film are pretty good, with Johnson’s badass federal agent now firmly part of the musclebound family. “Well, it all depends,” he told Access Hollywood, on how much a— I could kick in that movie,” he told Access Hollywood. “I’m sure they’re getting ready to start writing away.” Yeah, somebody get that 5-year-old screenwriter on the case!
It’s a girl! Jennifer Connelly gave birth to her first daughter on May 31st, a representative for the actress told E! News. Connelly already has a son, Stellan, 7, with husband Paul Bettany—Hollywood’s go-to man for eerie holy warriors (Priest, Legion, The DaVinci Code)—and another son Kai, 13, from a previous relationship. The child was delivered at home, as part of a planned water birth. The name of their new child has yet to be announced.
While Connelly has stayed out of the limelight since the premiere of her film The Dilemma in January, she was spotted out walking with her men late last month, apparently only days before delivery! See photos of the Connelly/Bettany clan in the gallery below.
Kim Kardashian isn’t just overseas for the UK Glamour Awards…she’s got smells to sell! The mag’s “Entrepreneur Of The Year” stepped out in London today to launch her self-titled fragrance, wearing a gold belt and tight skirt under her twisted purple top. “I LOVE LONDON SOOO MUCH!!!!!!” she tweeted, apparently not sweating her threatened lawsuit against footballer Bret Lockett and InTouch Weekly over their sketchy “sexting affair” story. Do you think she pulled off the look? Check out the gallery and let us know!
While Randy Travis didn’t rip off his shirt and break a window like Chris Brown, yesterday sounded like a pretty rough day on the morning show circuit for the country singer. Page Six is reporting that Travis was “out of it” at an early morning taping of Fox & Friends yesterday. “He turned up, looking like he’d been up all night, for a sound check around 5 a.m., then punched a wall in the green room and makeup area,” says their source. The singer did got through the gig (pictured above), but he wasn’t over whatever was bothering him yet. “He was supposed to tape an acoustic performance for Good Day New York, but he was so out of it he couldn’t do it, and they had to stop taping.”
Travis, who divorced his wife of 19 years (and manager for more than 30) in 2010, has spoken regularly about giving up alcohol and drugs for religion in his 20s. So far the singer and network have yet to comment on Page Six‘s allegations. His eighteenth album, Anniversary Celebration, celebrating 25 years of stardom, was released yesterday.
With Bridesmaids and The Hangover Part II easily the biggest comedies of the moment, you almost can’t blame Hollywood for the deluge of wedding-themed films its lining up for the next few years. The latest star to hop on the bandwagon is the recently remarried Reese Witherspoon, whose planning to produce and star in Who Invited Her?, the story of a wacky lady who forces herself into a multi-day bachelor party. Goofy blonde comedienne in her 30s and a wild boys’ bacchanalia? Yeah, no studio could resist that mix right now.
Whether America will still be on the matrimony train is another question—the scene is getting so crowded that Lizzy Caplan is signed up for a film currently titled The Bachelorette and one named Save The Date. Hopefully Reese didn’t slip a wedding into her next romantic comedy, This Means War, about two spies (Thomas Hardy and Chris Pine) competing for her attention. Eventually, one of these movies is going to be left at the box office altar.
It looks like the biggest names at the UK Glamour Women Of The Year Awards may not even be British! Kristen Stewart showed up in one of her trademark strapless minidresses, while Kim Kardashian‘s body was unsurprisingly bounding out of an elegant black dress. Despite these American interlopers, the Brits do at least have one competitor for belle of the ball—Rosie Huntington-Whiteley of Maxim Hot 100 and Transformers: Dark Of The Moon fame. Which of these ladies do you think is putting the glam in UK Glamour tonight?

It probably shouldn’t be a surprise that Simon Cowell‘s public apology after firing Cheryl Cole from the American X Factor is more than a little condescending. Turns out he was “protecting” the Girls Aloud singer by ejecting her from the judges’ table weeks into her first big stateside gig, after three years of judging on the British show. “I’m sorry. I hope we’re still close friends,” he told The Sun. “She’s still a star. The hardest thing to accept is that everyone has painted me as a monster because I embarrassed her. But the truth was I was protecting her. I just want people to be in the best place at the right time.” Apparently, that place was not America, and not anywhere near Paula Abdul.
While he admits Cole told him she was upset, Cowell appears to be showing his usual brusque manner over the slight. “‘This was never personal or saying you were terrible’. It wasn’t that she was terrible—she was good. I just thought she’d be happier in the UK. We noticed she was quieter than normal. The feeling was that she was slightly out of her comfort zone in America. The intention was to do it quietly and say to her she had an option to rejoin the UK show. At the end of the day we were saying, ‘Move to another show for even more money’. There was an offer of around £2.5million on the table including bonuses. How is that sacking someone?” With Cole’s friends claiming she only tried the American show as a favor to Cowell in the first place, it seems unlikely his claims of concern will dismiss the bad buzz following her exit. Will America be turned off by the firing of a celebrity they never really knew in the first place?
Ok, this is just getting ridiculous. Sure, we all heard about Blake Lively and Leonardo DiCaprio gallivanting across Europe, but there was reason to believe Leo was just playing the field following his split with Bar Refaeli (he was spotted in a cabana with another lady, you know). Now Us Magazine reports that Blake, following her appearance at the MTV Movie Awards, skipped the parties to visit Disneyland with Mr. DiCaprio for a special late night journey. “The hot new twosome and their entourage were escorted via private entrance to the front of the line on the “StarTours” ride past 11pm,” says the mag. “The group—seen taking photos of one another with their phones—enjoyed their own private ride on the Star Wars-themed simulation ride.” Sexy times!
The pair were also spotted on Main Street and “chattering and laughing” in Downtown Disney, practically closing down the amusement park. Are these two romantically inseparable or just sharing a posse? For all the gossip, little steaminess has been described between them. A source tells Us “I’ve never seen him like this with a girl,” but what will really suggest the playboy’s been snagged is when they’re spotted on a date by themselves.
It’s been a big day for nipslip enthusiasts! As stunning as Lady Gaga’s wardrobe malfunction was at last night’s CFDA Awards, Khloe Kardashian topped her outrageousness by managing to pop a nipple out on Fox & Friends this morning. What makes it even more amazing? No one noticed! On the show with sister Kourtney to give a “sneak peek” (and how!) at the next season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Khloe’s nipple was initially hidden by a mix of hair and text bar. But between the zooming camera and the shifting socialite, astute Fox viewers eventually noted a dark circle under her sheer blouse, something no one on screen (or behind the camera) seemed remotely aware of.
Not that Khloe is embarrassed about it now. “I f—ing love nipples!!!!” she tweeted after fans told her about the slip, later adding “My mom just called me saying my nip slip is ‘all over the internet!’ Ha! Is it weird that I love it?! Who knew nipples were so special?” Gee, we dunno…Janet Jackson maybe? Check out the subtly NSFW video from Fox—for as long as it’s available!—after the jump.
