Jennifer Lawrence is turning 22 today, and we couldn’t be more proud of the “girl on fire.” Some of us fell in love with her back when she did Winter’s Bone, others jumped in with The Hunger Games, but regardless of when our fandom began, we haven’t been able to get enough of her. We watched teary-eyed and cheered her on as she protected her family, stepped in for Primrose, shot an arrow through an apple, devoted herself to Peeta and emerged a victor. Are we the only ones that pretend we’re Katniss Everdeen in the midst of the Games when we need to run those last few dreaded minutes on the treadmill? It definitely helped when we found out that she really trains that hard (sans arrows) off-set too.
Sure, we’ve heard rumblings that archery’s becoming more popular in recent months, but one HG trend that’s much more visible in everyday life is that signature Katniss braid. That’s why we decided to focus on her hair for this birthday celebration. Jennifer’s always keeping it fresh with her hair color and styling — with or without Cinna’s help. From her days as a spunky teenageron TBS’ The Bill Engvall Show to her ass-kicking times in X-Men, she’s always shocking us with her new looks, and we’re always looking forward to what she’s going to come out with next.

The Olympics may be over, but we’re holding on to memories of cheering on our favorite athletes for dear life. There’s something truly beautiful about the Olympic Games and how it unites a country (and gives us something to talk about in an awkward elevator encounter). We do not want to say goodbye! That’s why we spent today looking for ways to indulge in the games for just a little while longer. Something tells us some of the Games’ breakout stars will never be too far from our radar! For now, here are 10 of our favorite ways to not let go of the 2012 Summer Olympics:
1. Ryan Lochte will be appearing on an upcoming episode of the CW’s 90210. He will cross paths with recently reunited couple Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Max (Josh Zuckerman) at a resort, where they are attempting to strengthen their relationship. For his sake, we hope he acts better than he interviews!
2. Have you seen Michael Phelps in the new Louis Vuitton ad? If your answer is “Hmmm I don’t remember…” then no, you haven’t seen it because it is definitely unforgettable! Michael Phelps has proven to be more than just a trendy athlete to love. He overcame a bad reputation and is now only regarded of as the most decorated Olympian of all time.
3. We can’t get enough of the McKayla Maroney Is Not Impressed meme, and we know it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Her unimpressed face photobombs the most perfectly chosen images throughout the day. McKayla got in on the fun when Aly Raisman tweeted this photo of Maroney, Kyla Ross and herself standing outside a closed swimming pool.
It’s one of the greatest mysteries since contemplating the beginning of the universe: Who is Taylor Swift “never ever, ever getting back together” with in her new song, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”? It’s all we can think about since she announced the release of Red in an online chat with her fans last night. “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is the first single to be released from the album and, like many of her other excellent breakup songs, the lyrics are driving us crazy. John Mayer? Taylor Lautner? Jake Gyllenhaal? Joe Jonas? Which of these guys is she never going to give the time of day to ever again? Maybe it’s someone we don’t even know! Tay, why must you torture us like this. The blond beauty always sings straight from her heart, so we know this must be a page ripped right out of her diary.
Taylor confirmed the truth to her breakup track in an interview that aired on Good Morning America today. The song is about a breakup that was on and off. But what really inspired it was when a friend of her ex told her he heard she and the mystery ex were going to be rekindling the romance. Her lyrics set the record straight: “You go talk to your friends, talk to my friends, talk to me/ But we are never ever, ever, ever getting back together.”
We hear you loud and clear, Taylor. We know she’s head over heels for Conor Kennedy after purchasing a new house near his family’s compound, so she is definitely not looking for new love anytime soon. But who is this ex who is so new song worthy? Your guess is as good as ours. Here’s a gallery of her real and rumored bfs for you to choose from.

Much to our disbelief, Halle Berry is turning 46 today. If we had one wish in this life, we’d probably wish to age as gracefully as she has (after wishing for world peace, of course). Halle has been gracing us with her presence onscreen and on the red carpet since 1989, and we’re pretty sure that she looks just a beautiful now as she did then. Halle started out on Living Dolls but her real breakthrough role was in Spike Lee‘s Jungle Fever. Fast forward to 2000, and Berry was in blockbuster territory, donning a white wig to transform into the comic-book hero Storm in X-Men. She found her niche in the action movie scene and took on the role as James Bond’s feisty sidekick Jinx in Die Another Day. She really turned heads as soon as she stepped out in that amazing orange bikini! From there on out Berry was everywhere, including on the Oscars stage, accepting the Best Actress award for her roll in Monster’s Ball. In more recent news, we learned that Halle will be appearing with a different kind of monster, on an upcoming episode of Sesame Street. She will appear in a segment with Elmo, explaining the word “nibble.” Not quite sure what to expect with that, but we might actually tune in. We’re also really looking forward to seeing her performance in Cloud Atlas, which will be in theaters this October.
Halle Berry has become a household name with her talent and undeniable beauty. So for her 46th birthday, we’re celebrating how stunning she’s always been and has become over the years.

We wish we could be celebrity chauffeurs! OK, not anymore. As much as we’d love to hang out with our fave celebs all day, gathering juicy intel on them, it is apparently not worth the trouble. Jennifer Lopez is suing her former chauffeur for $20 million for extortion and defamation after claiming that he threatened to release damaging information about her. According to court documents obtained by E!, Lopez claims in the lawsuit that her driver, Hakob Manoukian, threatened to release “disruptive and potentially damaging” information about her unless she paid him $2.8 million. How rude! (Also, how much do these guys make that she can sue him for that much?
Lopez’s suit claims that an attorney for Manoukian, who sued Lopez, her manager, Benny Medina, and ex-husband Marc Anthony for breach of contract in April, demanded the nearly $3 million payday to avoid disclosing “sensitive and personal information that he had allegedly overheard” while working for Lopez.
Good news first: Aly Raisman rocked the floor today on the last day of gymnastics competition in London. Aly became the first American woman ever to win the floor exercise at the Olympics, after increasing her degree of difficulty and shining in her routine to attain a score of 15.6. We’re always taken aback by incredible individuals like Aly. To execute skill and athleticism in such an immaculate way under pressure is just mind blowing. When asked how she was able to deliver a routine like that she said, “I felt like I had nothing to lose. It was going to be my last memory for London, so I just wanted to make it count and enjoy it.” As if earning the gold wasn’t enough, earlier in the day she won a bronze medal in the balance beam, which came after winning an appeal with the judges and then a tiebreaker with Catalina Ponor of Romania. (After she lost the tie-breaker for bronze in the all-around, this was a huge relief!)
And then there’s the bad news. We’re really happy Aly did so well, because the story wasn’t as happy for her teammates. All-around gold medalist Gabby Douglas had a disappointing day, finishing seventh on balance beam after a nasty fall. Yesterday, Gabby also failed to medal on the uneven parallel bars with a 14.900 score that left her in eighth place. The bars are supposed to be where Gaby really struts her stuff and where she got her nickname, “Flying Squirrel.”
With all this talk about gold medals, we’re also reminded of an athlete who has a heart of gold. Lolo Jones is a hurdler for Team USA who has proved herself to be an athlete to look up to. While competing at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, she finished seventh in the 100m hurdles after taking a disastrous fall on the ninth hurdle. Despite this big setback, Lolo did not give up. And in 2010, she finished as the #1 100m hurdler in the U.S. and #2 in the world. As if being an incredible athlete and training isn’t hard enough, she is always putting others before herself, and that’s why we can’t stop ourselves from gushing over her. Lolo said the reason for the charitable donations she makes and the stances she takes is because she’s “been receiving help from charities and other assistance programs since I was young, so it was only natural for me to give back.” Here are some ways Jones has shown what an amazing person she is:
- Following her race in Beijing in 2008, Jones gave her $4,000 in prize money to a fund assisting Renee Trout, a single mother from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who was a victim of the Iowa floods. But it didn’t stop there. Jones’ sponsors each matched her winnings which brought the total donation to $12,000. She received the Visa Humanitarian Athlete of the Year title for her significant contributions.
- After an emotional race yesterday, in which Jamaica’s Brigitte Foster-Hylton failed to advance, Jones ran over in an attempt to console her. We love to see that kind of compassion from one athlete of one delegation to another. She later explained, “The emotions were just outpouring from her. Even if she would have punched me, I totally would have understood.”
Heidi Klum is all about the bizarre costumes and presenting herself in the most insane ways possible. There’s no question that she’s totally gorgeous, but she definitely tried to cover it up sometimes – literally. Most recently, she stuck her head right into the mouth of a dragon. We found ourselves cringing and shrieking – “Don’t do it, Heidi!” Don’t look at us like that, the dragon looked hungry! But it was all in good fun, Heidi was just sharing her excitement for DreamWorks’ How To Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island. Although she’s usually decked out in the most glamorous designer wear, she decided to ditch the couture and go for a viking costume instead. We totally love that she really got into the spirit but it was far from the first time that she dressed to scare. Enter photos from many, many, many famous Heidi Klum Halloween parties. To think that we usually just throw on some cat ears or a red clown nose and call it night! We are not worthy of her creativity. So head on down to the gallery below and just try to resist the urge to say “WTF, HEIDI?!” out loud.

We’ve always known Serena Williams has got it goin’ on. From forehands to fashion, Serena knows how to do it all. But during the Olympics this year, she’s done her best to remind us just how much ass she kicks. As we post this, she’ll be taking her talents to the singles finals of the 2012 Olympics (9 a.m. ET), competing for the gold against Maria Sharapova. And basically right after that, she and sister Venus are scheduled to compete in the doubles semifinals. Hopefully you got a chance to catch her previous matched this week, like yesterday’s, when she demolished No. 1-seeded Victoria Azarenka 6-1, 6-2. It definitely took our breath away. Williams has lost only 16 games through the past five rounds and has won 12 consecutive matches. She’s also won 14 Grand Slam singles championships, the most of any active woman.
Of course, her recent victories aren’t the only reasons we love Serena. Here are a few more:
1. She is always winning in style. Flaunting her trophy and her athletic bod while striking a pose.
2. She’d be so much fun to bring along with us to the beach this summer. You can build sandcastles on us next!
