When Foxcatcher arrives in theaters this weekend — the dark, true-life drama about the murder of Olympic wrestling champion Dave Schultz (played by Mark Ruffalo) — it may leave you with a looming question, “Wait, is that really Channing Tatum?” No, not just because Tatum — like his co-star Steve Carell (who plays eccentric millionaire and Schultz’s murderer, John du Pont) — is virtually unrecognizable due to the film’s stunning physical transformations. Showtime‘s mind-bending new drama The Affair follows both sides of a relationship that unfolds between writer Noah Solloway (Dominic West) and waitress Alison Lockhart (Ruth Wilson), both of whom are married. 1) I’m not just writing that because VH1 is paying me the big bucks to do so. Although, later on, I am looking forward to balling out of control at Forever 21 even though I’m ghorghor years old. What? VH1 isn’t paying me that much in order for me to reveal my age. 2) Yes, some of you are watching — ABC did recently give ask for a full season order — but the show is now hovering around the 6.5 million range, which is pretty decent, but I’m waiting for this show to become the breakout hit of the season. Have you ever had your whole day made by a stranger, and for the rest of that day, you weren’t able to stop smiling??? First of all, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star has been one of my favorite actors ever since his hilarious break out role in White Chicks, and I’ve loved just about everything else he’s done (including his Old Spice campaign!). With a build like that, I’m sure nothing scares him. But I must say, my fangirl shriek did startle him a bit! I’m just glad he didn’t use his football skills to tackle me to the ground.
