Baylor, the puppy with the most beautiful eyes in the world (besides my dog’s) who happens to be owned by Selena Gomez, is sick. The singer/actress tweeted this morning, “My baby is sick praying for his surgery,” with the saddest picture ever of Baylor lying on his side. We don’t know what the surgery was for, but even if it’s routine, sick dogs make us cry (we won’t even post the picture, you have to click on the link to be tortured). So, let’s cheer up with this other celebrity pet news.
» In case you missed Robert Pattinson on yesterday’s Live With Regis and Kelly, he retold the dramatic story of rescuing little Bear from the jaws of death. “He was in one of those shelters where they don’t keep them around for very long,” he said. And then went on to talk about taking the pup on a private jet and smuggling him across borders. Watch this just for Kelly Ripa’s impressions of Robsten’s dog.
» Taylor Swift talked to Us Weekly about why she named her supercute kitten Meredith. “Her name is Meredith — Meredith Grey because she’s a gray cat, and because I love Grey’s Anatomy!” No word on whether this Meredith has shown a fear of intimacy caused by a troubled relationship with her ambitious mother.
Do you feel better yet, Baylor?

Wow, Jackson Rathbone fans. You guys are a very enthusiastic bunch. Unless you are all actually our own Ambika Muttoo, pressing refresh for the past 24 hours. Not that we in any way dispute that Jackson totally deserves his title as this week’s Hotness. We just thought it would be a tiny bit more of an even fight against his adoptive vampire bro, Kellan Lutz. But when voting closed earlier this afternoon, Jackson had won by 80 percent to Kellan’s 20.
The consolation? Kesmett fans can see more of their hero in Immortals this weekend. While Jackson fans will have to wait one more week for the release of Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Or you can browse through this photo montage of Jackson being very, very excited about your undying devotion.

“There’ll be no sunlight, if I lose you, baby,” Bruno Mars sings in the Breaking Dawn – Part 1 soundtrack single “It Will Rain.” And while the video for the song, which premiered last night, features more of Bruno and a model than Rob and Kristen, it also has a whole lot for Twilight fans to like. Here’s a little countdown:
5: The anguish of Bruno’s lyrics and song, plus the images of rain on the window pain, are so much like the pain we felt when Edward left Forks in New Moon. And like when we finished reading Stephenie Meyer‘s books for the first time and realized there were no more. Or, you know, when you experienced real-life heartbreak. Same thing.
In case you didn’t realize, VH1 Classic has declared today, 11/11/11, National Metal Day. We’re sure we’re not the only ones to blast Mastodon in our headphones while everyone assumes we’re typing away to the sweet sounds of Britney Spears. Not every metalhead wears leather pants, T-shirts and a scowl, right? Over the years, several surprising celebs have come out of the closet as fans of the hard stuff — and not just when those Iron Maiden shirts were really popular at Hot Topic.
Years ago, MTV discovered that Demi Lovato was a serious fan of black metallers Dimmu Borgir among other groups we’re sure never appeared on Radio Disney. Kat Dennings likes to tweet about knitting while listening to metal. This 10-minute video of a tipsy Kelly Clarkson rocking out onstage at a Metal Skool show in 2006 is truly endearing. And only one celeb has actually toured with Ozzfest — Ms. Jada Pinkett Smith. Check out the other headbanging A-listers in the gallery!
Also, head over to VH1 Tuner to see pics of metal gods being very unmetal and read Top 20 Countdown host Jim Shearer’s account of his Big 4 Metal Moments.

While Australian girlfriend Shanina Shaik was backstage getting ready for her angel debut at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last night, Tyson Beckford was on the red carpet, giving VH1 News intimate details on their sex life that we couldn’t make up if we tried.
“She was so stressed up until this point,” Tyson, 40, said of his 21-year-old girlfriend. “I made her work out and I’ve been withholding love for a while,” he explained of how he’s helped her relieve her stress. Hmm, interesting method.
“We gonna get into trouble tonight,” he added with a grin. And then, went on to describe how much “trouble” they’ve gotten into in the past. “We’ve been known to be in the garage, in the kitchen, in the washroom. It don’t matter.”
The garage? OK, now he has our attention.
“Up until today I have posted virtually everyone of my tweets on my own, but clearly the platform has become too big to be managed by a single individual,” Ashton Kutcher wrote in a blog post this morning, following up on his previous pledge to “stop tweeting I find a way to properly manage this feed.”
In the post, the actor/Twitter pioneer explained what led to last night’s controversial tweet protesting the firing of Penn State football coach Joe Paterno in the wake of a child sex abuse scandal in his staff. “I assumed that he had been fired due to poor performance as an aging coach,” Ashton writes on his blog, saying he’d just passed by the TV without seeing the whole story. Being the anti-human-trafficking advocate he is, he quickly learned what he’d stepped in. “Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet!” he wrote after getting a barrage of angry tweets. “Didn’t have full story. #admitwhenYoumakemistakes.”
Because he realized that his Twitter feed is much more than a fun toy, Ashton has already taken steps to fix his problem. “While I will continue to express myself through @Aplusk I’m going to turn the management of the feed over to my team at Katalyst Media to ensure the quality of its content,” his blog reads.
Ever since his much publicized race with CNN to reach 1 million followers, Ashton’s feed has been making headlines. Here are just a few of his most newsworthy Twitter moments of the past year:
Congrats go to Taylor Swift for winning her second Entertainer of the Year trophy at last night’s Country Music Awards. But who should win our kudos for being the most spectacularly dressed at the Nashville ceremony? Um, Miss Piggy, obvs. The porcine beauty sported a dangerously short, shimmery champagne-colored dress onstage that we’re sure made Kermit wonder if he’s a mammal after all.
What really popped out last night (besides Kermit’s eyes), was the crazy variety of gowns, short, long, poofy and totally wacko. Taylor’s train must have spanned the entire length of the red carpet. Erin Andrews did Barbie proud in a short hot-pink number. Laura Bell Bundy‘s completely open royal-blue skirt revealed a beaded beige bodysuit — a look that was crazy but surprisingly flattering on her. Susie Brown of the JaneDear Girls accessorized her pink and purple ruffles with a cupcake purse. Natasha Bedingfield donned an entire carpet to perform. Martina McBride rebelled and wore pants. And of course, host Carrie Underwood embraced every single trend with her many gown changes throughout the night.
Flip through these many photos and decide for yourself if Miss Piggy had any rivals in the fashion department.

I realize I am causing your heads to hurt with this one, Twilighters. Or not. I know there are the die-hard Jasper and Emmett supporters who have eyes for no one but their chosen Cullen vampire. But then there are those of us who will have a very hard time deciding between Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone. But in honor of next week’s Breaking Dawn premiere, we are MAKING you choose.
I don’t normally go for the brawny types, but I might make an exception for Kells — that dimple and mischievous twinkle in his eyes gets me every time. His pre-Twilight modeling career gives him an advantage here, too — the boy knows how to pose. And have you seen pics of him in Immortals?
In the first Twilight, we’re not sure Jackson’s bleached hair did him any real favors, but Jasper has since learned the value of lowlights and really got to shine in battle in Eclipse. Outside of the Twi-verse, he’s got the whole rocker thing going for him. And with those warm hazel eyes and adorable cleft chin, he might be stealing hearts away from the muscle-loving Emmett fans.
This is no Jacob vs. Edward chose here, but it’s a test nonetheless. Flip through the pics and vote. Poll will close at 2 p.m. on Friday.

Hours after Brett Ratner resigned his post as producer of the Academy Awards in the aftermath of his quote that “rehearsing is for f—s,” his buddy Russell Simmons stopped by Big Morning Buzz Live. After chatting about his book, Super Rich, and the passing of Heavy D, the hip-hop mogul came to the defense of the Tower Heist director, though not to the defense of his words.
“I understand how hurtful his words were, and I know Brett’s unfiltered and says sometimes horrible things,” Simmons began, insisting that Ratner didn’t mean his remark as a homophobic slur. “He didn’t mean gay people. I think that’s pretty clear. I’m sorry he said it and I’m sorry he lost his job. I think the punishment was a bit cruel.”
The nominees for the 2012 People’s Choice Awards — the bane of all snooty critics — have been announced. And since you can go ahead and see all of the nominees when you go to vote (through December 6) for the show’s winners, to be announced in the January 11 ceremony, we thought we’d concentrate on some important numbers revealed on the list.
9: Nominations for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (including Favorite Movie, four of the five nods for Favorite Actor Under 25 and Favorite Book Adaptation)
0: Nominations for Deathly Hallows, Part 1, which came out last November and missed last year’s cut-off.
7: Nominations for Katy Perry, who, in addition to the expected music categories received nods for Favorite Animated Movie Voice (for Smurfs) and TV guest star (How I Met Your Mother).
7: Nominations for Glee, including two for TV comedy actress (Jane Lynch and Lea Michele), two for comedy actor (Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith), two for guest stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Kristin Chenoweth, and one for network TV comedy. We are holding out hope for a Heather Morris nod one of these days.
6: Nominations for vampires, that’s just from True Blood and The Vampire Diaries.
13: Last year’s nominations for vampires, because Eclipse came out in the summer. Reminding us just how long it’s been since we’ve had a Twilight movie!
3: Nominations for Water for Elephants/Robert Pattinson. The frustrated Twilight vote finds its outlet!
0: Nods for women in the Favorite Movie Icon category.
0: Nods for women in the Favorite Action Star category.
1: Nod for a woman in the Favorite Superhero category: Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique in X-Men: First Class.
1: Nomination for a Kardashian. Kim, for fave celebreality star. Sorry, rest of the family!
