We’ve already marveled at the travesty that is Nicki Minaj covering up her gorgeous face with that giant red hood with out even telling us what the hell it means (and nope, that performance doesn’t really explain it to us either). But she was hardly alone in wanting to make a statement at the Grammys. Fergie openly admitted to it, with her see-through orange “dress.” We also salute those ladies who know that the only way we’ll ask who they are is by showing up wearing machine guns or the hide of a freshly killed zebra. Also, we are still confused about the presence of people like Snooki and Rebecca Black. Not that we’re complaining, mind you. We had a whole lot of fun putting this one together.

As the music world continued to mourn the loss of Whitney Houston, many of the stars on the Grammy red carpet decided that the way to honor the late diva was not to tone down their dazzling gowns, but to let them shine. Taylor Swift, Jessie J., David Guetta and Carrie Underwood were all aglitter. Amber Rose went in an entirely different direction, lighting up the evening in a bright yellow Versace. And then there were a few ladies and gents whose simple black was not the stuff of mourning, but of total sex appeal: We’re looking at you, Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson. Which were your favorites of the night? Browse through the pics and then share your opinion in the comments!

Just when we were worried that the reverent atmosphere on the Grammys red carpet would mean zero Lady Gaga Egg moments tonight — BAM! Cameras got a glimpse of a mysterious hooded figure exiting her limo. And as she got out and turned around, we recognized her as Nicki Minaj and simultaneously noticed a man dressed, well, we don’t know our Catholic formal wear too well, but we think he was dressed as the Pope. Or a bishop. And then, as our brains began to soak in all of this data, we got a better look at Nicki’s face. Which is done very simply, devoid of her usual Barbie-doll exaggerations, and looks absolutely gorgeous.
We’re told Nicki’s hood/gown is Versace. We will definitely update this post as soon as we have any more information. Like on where you, too, can purchase a Pope to escort you through town, for instance.
Question for the room: Did Nicki Minaj really need to go over-the-top to get noticed tonight? Or would she have been better served by just looking good?

While many of music’s biggest stars remembered Whitney Houston at the decidedly somber Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Party at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday night, Bobby Brown was onstage with New Edition in Mississippi, tearfully dedicating his show to his ex-wife. TMZ reported that Brown was “in and out of crying fits” after hearing the news of Houston’s death before the show, but he still went on with his performance. “First of all, I want to tell you that I love you all,” he told fans, according to The Associated Press. “Second, I would like to say, ‘I love you, Whitney.’ The hardest thing for me to do is to come on this stage.”
Back in Beverly Hills, as fans held a vigil for Houston outside the hotel, Davis asked his guests for a moment of silence. “I do have a heavy heart, and I am personally devastated by someone so close to me for so many years,” he said. “My heart goes out to her daughter Bobbi Kristina and her mother, Cissy.” Everyone from Tony Bennett to Diddy to Alicia Keys shared their memories of Houston at the party, MTV News reports.
Grammy Awards producer Ken Erlich told reporters that tonight’s event will now include a tribute to Houston sung by Jennifer Hudson. He said the ceremony will “recognize Whitney’s remarkable contribution to music fans in general, and in particular her close ties with the Grammy telecast and her Grammy wins and nominations over the years.”
The morning after the tragic death of Whitney Houston, the cause of the singer’s sudden demise at age 48 remains a mystery. But sordid details about her last days and evidence in her Beverly Hills Hotel room are beginning to surface. An unresponsive Houston was found in her hotel bathtub, and police found prescription drugs in the room, sources told TMZ. The L.A. Coroner officials removed her body from the hotel at 1:50 a.m. PT and will conduct an autopsy today, ABC News reports.
Houston’s cousin, singer Dionne Warwick, and her mother, Cissy Houston, both spoke to Whitney earlier on Saturday and discussed their plans for the Clive Davis party that night in the hotel. Davis, Houston’s longtime friend and mentor, spoke at the party, dedicating the evening to her. “I do have a heavy heart, and I am personally devastated by someone so close to me for so many years,” he said.
It’s Day Two of New York Fashion Week, and the celebrity sightings are starting to pile up — no small feat, given that it’s also the beginning of Grammy Awards weekend in Los Angeles, and we’re sure those parties are tempting many a famous face away from this coast. But up at Lincoln Center, the stars who know that what they (and their stylists) choose for them to wear on the red carpet and on the way to the grocery store has an impact on their overall image, and, dare we say? their career as well. So, who have we seen in the front rows so far? Shailene Woodley (kind of surprising, since she told us she only wears second-hand clothing), Alexa Chung and Kristen Chenoweth took in the pretty purples and blues of the Honor show. Abigail Breslin, Megan Hilty and Angela Simmons watched the Cynthia Rowley show together. Kellan Lutz was with Matt Czuchry, Chris Lowell and the NY Knicks’ Landry Fields for Joseph Abboud. Recently resurfaced former child star Anna Chlumsky was backstage at Houghton. Taylor Momsen was snapped roaming in the lobby today. And then there are the afterparties. Vanessa Hudgens, Rose McGowan, Giants star Victor Cruz and Eve were among the revelers at the Leila Shams party last night. Come back all week long for more pics of the stars getting their style on! And check out the video below for stars weighing in on some looks that didn’t look so hot.
We’re pretty sure this is how Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. train too, but they’ve managed to keep it on the DL: Everyone’s favorite homewrecker Michelle “Bombshell” McGee prepared for an upcoming boxing match by dancing at T’s Gentlemen’s Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, last night. Everyone’s favorite not-really-a-Nazi tattooed fetish model is getting in the ring with adult-film star Devon James (one of Tiger Woods’ alleged paramours) in a fight put on by the Celebrity Boxing Federation on Saturday, at the Ocean Manor Resort in Fort Lauderdale. This isn’t the first time McGee is fighting for a belt — she tried her hand at wrestling back in 2010 and won against another porn star. This time, she’s got even more motivation to win: She’s promoting her new DVD Michelle Bombshell: Caught on Tape. So many accomplishments, that one. Check out her pole moves (and knee tattoos) in the gallery below.

Seeing Scott Speedman acting opposite Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams in The Vow has made many of us a little more than nostalgic for his Felicity heyday. All week long people have been peppering him with reunion questions, and he responded jokingly, not realizing how crazy it would drive us.
“I think I made some offhand comment about me being a giant fat person [in a reunion show], but that’s not really what I’ve been wanting to do! I didn’t think that would get so much leverage,” he told us. “I think it would be fun to get together and see where the story is, but I don’t know, that’s probably not going to happen. There’s so many people doing too many different things right now.”
In all seriousness, though, Speedman is interested in coming back to the small screen. “Especially right now, there seems to be a lot of good television happening,” he said. “It’s hard after you do a show that people really like and you really like doing, it’s hard to just choose just to do anything. So I’ve been sort of picky about what I wanted to do.”
How about ringing up Felicity creator J.J. Abrams? “We’ve talked a little bit in the past about certain kind of things, but any time he would call, I’d be more than interested. He’s great.”
But there’s another reunion we’re dying to see: a re-teaming of Speedman with fellow Canadian Ryan Gosling, who starred with him in an episode of Goosebumps, “Say Cheese and Die,” in 1996. Big Morning Buzz Live dug up a clip of this fine example of their acting. Watch his thrilled, This Is Your Life-worthy reaction:
Assuming the camera don’t lie, George Clooney and Stacy Keibler are still going strong. They were snapped leaving Dan Tana’s Italian Restaurant in Los Angeles last night, and Splash News reports that George blasted the awaiting paparazzi with an air horn hidden under his hat. He and Stacy appear to be laughing at the prank in the car in the pic above. And maybe they’re also laughing at rumors that her time with George will come to an end once the Oscars are over and she’s no longer needed to be his red carpet arm candy.
We’re not sure what to make of the theory that they’re faking it for the cameras. On the one hand, the two do look great together in their awards-show finery, and the relationship has certainly upped her status. On the other, do two such beautiful, confident people really need to have a fake relationship for the cameras? Seems silly, when they could obviously win hearts for real. On the other, other hand (gossip is a many-limbed beast), they could have had a real thing for a while, but then when they eventually realized that they’re not right for each other, they didn’t want a breakup to distract from his Oscar campaign. God, that sounds even more cynical than the first hand.
In all the months we’ve been doing weekly Hotness polls, we’ve never had the (embarrassing) honor of actually talking to one of its subjects while voting was under way. Until now. Scott Speedman stopped by VH1 to promote his role as the anti-Channing Tatum, as Rachel McAdams’ ex-fiance, in The Vow. That movie’s love triangle, he said isn’t quite as fair as the one that made him famous: the fight against Noel for Felicity.
“I feel like the Felicity one was more balanced,” he said. “There was more screen time for all in that one. This one [in The Vow] is more skewed one way.”
So, who does he think would win in a real-life love triangle?
