10 Characters From The Wire We’d Like To See On The Walking Dead

View Photo Gallery

The Wire is one of the most respected series in cable television history, known for its complex characters on both sides of the Baltimore drug game. The Walking Dead is one of the most popular television series in cable television history, known for the fact that it’s a television show about zombies and zombies rule. Fans of both shows expressed a collective “OH SNAP!” last season on The Walking Dead with the appearance of Tyreese played by Chad Coleman who had previously played the ex-con with a heart of gold Dennis “Cutty” Wise on The Wire. Now the word is out that actor Larry Gilliard, Jr. who played The Wire’s ill-fated drug dealer D’Angelo “D” Barksdale is playing Bob Stookey on season 4 of The Walking Dead. That got us thinking of what other Wire characters we’d love to see on The Walking Dead’s cruel new world. Who would rise to the occasion and put down walkers and who would end up zombie meat with the quickness? Here are 10 Characters From The Wire We’d Like To See On The Walking Dead.

There are times when you wonder whatever happened to stars that were huge 15, 10, or even five years ago. Longevity in the fame game just isn’t in the cards for everyone, but that doesn’t stop some people from trying a tad bit too hard to keep themselves in the public eye.

Vampire Academy BFFs Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry Share Tales Of Burnt Cookies And Lissa-Vision

Frankly, I really didn’t need to host yesterday’s Very VH1 Spreecast with Zoey Deutch and Lucy Fry, the stars of next year’s Vampire Academy. It was all about watching the co-stars-turned-BFFs giggle with each other, pretend to be office drones at my boss’ desk, and say hi to their fans across the globe. But I’m selfish, and I really did want to join in on their fun, so every once in a while I got to ask a question of the girls who play a vampire princess and her vampire-hybrid best friend and bodyguard-in-training. The pair were at their most adorable when talking about their own friendship — starting with their tale of meeting at the audition, and how Zoey had to play guardian right away and drive Lucy home.

Jessie From Saved By The Bell Is Eye Banging Her DWTS Partner Somethin’ Fierce

Elizabeth Berkley is best known for her role as Jessie Spano on the generation-defining program Saved By The Bell, but there’s no sense denying that the ghost of Showgirls still trails her everywhere she goes. Yes, even to Dancing With The Stars, where she’s currently locked in mortal combat with the likes of Snooki, Jack Osbourne, and a bunch of people we’ve never heard of.

5 Reasons Why Tom Hanks Is Still The Best

"Captain Phillips" Photo Call

Tom Hanks is getting rave reviews for his performance in Captain Phillips (out today). It’s familiar territory for the two-time Oscar winner, but after recent offerings like Cloud Atlas, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and Larry Crowne underperformed, we began to worry about his status inside Hollywood’s golden circle. With Phillips and the forthcoming Saving Mr. Banks (he plays Walt Disney!), Hanks is poised to once again be a mainstay come awards season–and we couldn’t be happier. Nobody hits a promo circuit like Hanx.

From Romeo & Juliet To Hunger Games: Why We’re In Love With Young Love

I’m not naming names, but some people in my life ask me pretty often: Why do you care about all these teen things? A reasonable question, given the fact that I’m 35, a mom and have an office jammed full of YA novels. I have given a lot of explanations about how the stakes feel so much higher for teenagers, which makes their drama more entertaining. Plus I don’t want to watch a bunch of 30-somethings sitting around in Brooklyn cafes — I want escape. But nothing I say can match the eloquence of Phylicia Rashad (on ANY subject). Ms. Clair Huxtable herself, whose daughter Condola is starring in Romeo and Juliet on Broadway right now (opposite Orlando Bloom) really explained it well.

Justin Bieber may  be suffering from a lonely heart. The singer recently posted an Instagram of him singing “Heartbreaker.” Chloe Melas tells The Gossip Table that he may be singing about his ex, Selena Gomez.
