Kate Beckinsale Does Not Age: 40 Pictures Proving It On Her 40th Birthday

Kate-Beckinsale-main

So, maybe I’m the only one here who wore out my VHS tape of Much Ado About Nothing as a kid. In the Kenneth Branagh Shakespeare adaptation, the world first met fresh-faced English rose Kate Beckinsale, who played Hero opposite Robert Sean Leonard. Twenty years later, we’re looking at photos of the actress and cannot believe that she’s turning 40 today. Maybe that vampire gig in the Underworld movies was more than an act. Or maybe she’s had a little help. See for yourself.

Vampire Academy Exclusive: Sneak Peek From The Set Of The Next Big Vampire Flick

Richelle Mead
I’ve been obsessed with Richelle Mead‘s Vampire Academy novels since my early search for something to fill the Twilight-shaped hole in my reading heart. It’s the story of two BFFs — half-vampire badass bodyguard in training Rose and vampire princess Lissa — who share a telepathic link that becomes both a blessing and a curse in their dangerous lives attending St. Vladimir’s boarding school. For some of us felt like a long wait since then for the movie to come together, but the shoot just wrapped in London last week, and Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters is set to come out February 14, 2014. To whet our appetite, Mead sent us this exclusive photo from the set. Let’s take a closer look.

Mortal Instruments Star Godfrey Gao Does An Adorable Lily Collins Voice

It’s hard to imagine beautiful people being shy and nervous about anything, but The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is Taiwanese-Canadian model Godfrey Gao‘s first ever acting gig in English — and he has the pressure of playing one of your most beloved supernatural characters of 2012, warlock Magnus Bane. When VH1 caught up with him at Comic-Con this weekend, he told us how his castmates put him at ease.

Veronica Mars‘ Jason Dohring Hints At Logan’s Troubles In Movie

One of the best things about the Veronica Mars movie panel at Comic-Con was getting to witness how much the cast still loves each other. When VH1 stopped by their afterparty hosted by the Samsung Galaxy Experience on Friday night, we saw even more.

“All I want to say is, this is a great guy,” Jason Dohring (Logan) told us, as he embraced Percy Daggs III (Wallace). “I’m so happy to be working with you again.”

“Some of my most enjoyable episodes were the two episodes where we just shot together the whole time,” Daggs agreed. “He’s a fun guy to work with.”

Divergent Star, Author Didn’t Realize You’d Love Them

“I wrote the first draft in my rubber ducky pajamas in my parents’ house, which is where I lived,” Veronica Roth says of her best-selling book Divergent‘s adorably humble beginnings. She can be forgiven for never imagining that the first look at footage of its film adaptation would be one of the hottest tickets at San Diego Comic-Con. On Thursday, Hall H attendees were treated to glimpses of Four, Tris and the other characters in a dystopian version of what was once Chicago.

In this mecca of fandom, we asked Roth and the movie’s stars, Shailene Woodley and Theo James, to tell us about the first time they realized they even had fans.

Veronica Mars At Comic-Con: 10 Things We Learned

Kristen Bell
Confession: There are times when I forget that the thing you do for a living is what other people do for fun — and then there are times when I forget I’m even working. At the Comic-Con panel for the Veronica Mars this morning, I was pretty glad no one could see my unprofessional tears (happy tears!) in the darkened Hall H as footage of the Kickstarter-funded played. I almost forgot to take notes! But I did, so here are the important things I learned:

The 10 Most Terrifying Haunted Houses In Movie History

haunted_house_main

There are all sorts of things you’re supposed to ask a real estate agent when you’re house hunting. Any flood damage, property costs, any leaks, blah blah blah. But the number one thing you should always remember to ask is: “Is this house haunted?” Seriously, you’ll thank us. The Conjuring starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson hits theaters today, and it centers around a couple who didn’t ask this all important question. And as a result, they’re getting the crap scared out of them hardcore. But they’re hardly the first to have forgotten to ask the golden question. Read on to check out our list of the 10 scariest haunted houses in movie history!

ryanreynolds

In the new movie, R.I.P.D., Ryan Reynolds plays an police officer killed in the line of duty who must join an undead detective force of spirits. He might play an unquiet spirit in the film, but in real life Ryan Reynolds has a stare so smoldering and so powerful it gazes into MY SOUL.

Okay, maybe he’s also staring into your soul, too.

Divergent Stars, Director Get The Comic-Con Giggles

Right after they debuted the first footage from their movie over in Hall H, we were super excited to talk to Divergent stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James, along with director Neil Burger and author Veronica Roth. Little did we know they were delightfully punch drunk after a big day at Comic-Con. A simple question about the fandom wound up in Burger being reduced to tears. “They call themselves Initiates,” Roth began as the laughter continued. We’ll give you more of the real answer in the morning, but this was too cute to wait on.

Ryan Reynolds Clues Us In On His Secret Hobby

Ryan Reynolds is a man if many talents onscreen: How else could he go from Van Wilder to Buried, Fifteen to The Proposal. But when we saw the beautiful photography book his R.I.P.D. co-star Jeff Bridges made on the set of the weird afterlife buddy cop flick, we wondered, does Ryan also have some kind of side career waiting in the wings?

Ryan Reynolds

“I love to write, but I don’t publish, he told VH1 earlier this week. “I write some memoir stuff that’s not necessarily true. It’s expanded versions of kernels of truth that happened when I was young. I have three older brothers, and each one of them is uniquely bizarre in their own way. They’re a wellspring of great stories.”

Hey, this seems like something more than a little hobby. Look out, David Sedaris.

“It sounds like there’s a script there, man,” Bridges commented.

Ooh, and if he added some “expanded” versions of stories about his love life, we’d definitely be hooked!
