Gabby Sidibe “Blacked Out” When She Met Oprah

For the last year, Gabourey Sidibe‘s star has risen higher than she probably ever thought possible due to her star turn in Precious. The awesome thing is that. as famous as she’s become, she is completely unaffected, in addition to being an amazing soundbite machine. One recent interview in the Daily Mail was a gem though, and we pulled some of our favorite quotes to prove our point.

On what it was like being a newcomer working with seasoned performers: “There were definitely no egos during filming and it was so exciting working with people I consider to be heroes. I just spent most of my time pretending that I actually belonged there.”

On Mariah Carey‘s prep for her role: “It wasn’t a big deal for me to dress down for the part. Mariah had it all stripped away and she had to put on the uglies every day!”

On her new fame: “I’m aware that people want to be friends for shady reasons and a lot of boys have suddenly come out of the woodwork, wanting to be with me. I’m thinking: ‘Do you really believe I’m that dumb?'”

On where she gets her sense of humor: “My mom was so proud of me in the film, but she laughed at inappropriate times.”

On meeting Oprah Winfrey: “I was on her show, so I know there’s documentary evidence of me having been there, but I can’t even begin to remember what she said. She’s such an icon, I kind of blacked out.”

We totally would black out if we met Opes, too, Gabby! If you have any other fun stories you want to share or if you just wanna hang out, call us – seriously.

RPattz’s New Movie Is Packed With Sex Scenes. Excited?

Yes. Yes, we are 100% out of our minds excited to watch Robert Pattinson seduce a bunch of hot chicks in his new movie Bel Ami, which goes into production this winter. Who isn’t? Sure he’s awkward, but that’s what makes him sooo0 sexy (insert coo here) and we’re tired of sitting through hours of Twilight books and movies only to see him grunt out a kiss or two (yep, we’re counting the days until the Breaking Dawn movie(s) for one reason and one reason only). We want some hardcore, XXX RPattz action!

Okay, so Bel Ami isn’t a porno, but it’ll suffice. Apparently our lil’ Brit plays a shady guy who sleeps his way through every hot woman in Paris, seducing and using ‘em as he goes. Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman, and Kristen Scott Thomas are lined up to play his paramours, and Life&Style reveals that, “one of his sex romps with Christina finds both their characters surprised by the intensity of the racy encounter.” Um, yay?

Do KStew And Dakota Suck Face In The Runaways?

Twilight co-stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning are definitely invading each other’s personal space in the just-released stills from The Runaways. As Joan Jett and Cherie Currie, respectively, the talented actresses sizzle in their jumpsuits, platforms, and mullets. Take a closer look below. [Photo: Apparition]

Jessica Simpson Shoulders Onto Extraordinary Measures Premiere

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson may be taking time away from her country music career, but judging from her outfit at last night’s Extraordinary Measures premiere in Hollywood, she hasn’t lost that country style; her shoulder-padded suit-jacket over see-through black turtleneck and leggings gave us serious Designing Women flashbacks.

Hope this wasn’t meant to impress professional collaborator Billy Corgan—not all black ensembles are goth. Also attending the premiere were stars Brendan Fraser, Kerri Russell and Harrison Ford, who was joined by fiancee Calista Flockhart. Check out what they wore in the gallery below.

FABlife’s DVD Pick Of The Week

The Invention of Lying

Ricky Gervais is a comic genius. He created “The Office” and–as you’ll know if you watched the Golden Globes–does rude better than Don Rickles. He’s also short, squat and has the scariest fangs outside of “True Blood.” Oh, he’s English, too. Can he make it this side of the pond with audiences who don’t watch BBC America? The follow-up to the rather charming Ghost Town starts out as a high-concept gag machine, with Gervais as the only fibber in a world where people are compelled to tell the truth. Soon he’s using his silver tongue to get whatever he wants … well, almost everything. Gervais has wisely surrounded himself with pros, which means Rob Lowe has fun doing his rude straight talker routine and Jennifer Garner simpers nicely as the girl.

Extras: The usual making of and testimonial featurettes are accompanied by an interesting podcast and documentary on Gervais sidekick Karl Pilkington‘s trip to U.S.

The Hottest Awards Season Accessory: Golden Globes

Tonight the Hollywood Foreign Breast Press Association recognized actors and filmmakers at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Tinseltown’s sexiest were on the red carpet, including Halle Berry, Christina Hendricks of “Mad Men,” and PreciousMariah Carey. But we hardly noticed their designer gowns, gigantic jewels, and flawless makeup, because we were too busy focusing on that other enormous accessory of the evening: their, uh, globes. Plunging necklines were abound tonight and we’ve got photographic evidence. Warning: lovely ladies lumps and bumps ahead. [Photos: Getty Images]

Julia Roberts Trashes NBC Live On The Air

The best moment at tonight’s Golden Globes didn’t happen inside the Beverly Hilton. Nope, Julia Roberts took the crown on the red carpet, while chatting it up in an interview with NBC’s own Billy Bush before the show began. The actress, along with pals Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, screeched out a birthday wish to Michelle Obama, and then blurted out to Bush, “NBC? You guys are in the toilet right now!”

We’re certain the star was referencing the current drama between Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno, and we admire her bluntness, even if it may have been influenced by a few glasses of champagne in the limo ride beforehand. But the best part of all is that NBC – who aired the Globes – has embedded the video of her dissing the network for all the world to see. They’re either in on the joke, or they don’t get it at all.

Are Jen And Gerard Doing It, Or Not?

Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler looked thisclose at tonight’s Golden Globes. Sure, champagne can make even mortal enemies canoodle, but these two seemed awfully touchy-feely, both while sitting together during the ceremony and backstage in the press room (pics below). While they may just be trying to build buzz for their upcoming flick The Bounty Hunter, we kinda like seeing Jen let down her guard a bit and get giggly with her hunky co-star. Did you see how much leg she was flaunting tonight? Surely she was showing off for someone special, right? [Photo: NBC]

Sandy And Meryl Ready To Battle For Best Actress Oscar

Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep may have kissed at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards (they tied for Best Actress, natch), but it’s about to get nasty. Both are leaving the Golden Globes with a statue in hand – Sandy for Best Actress in a Drama, Meryl for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical – which can only mean one thing – they’re the two top contenders for the Best Actress Academy Award. Gulp.

We caught the gal pals in the press room at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, and they were buddy-buddying it up big time. But Sandy has yet to snag an Oscar nom, and Meryl hasn’t won since 1982, for Sophie’s Choice. Think these two classy ladies can remain civil, or will the race to the Oscars get nasty?
