Kate Hudson, Kristen Stewart And The Women Of Sundance 2014

Mad Men may be months away, but Joan and Roger are together again in God’s Pocket (starring Christina Hendricks and directed by John Slattery), which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The list of breakout stars from the 2014 Park City fest is already lengthy–and as always, there is the far-from-shabby Robert Redford to gush about. In addition to acclaimed performances from newcomer Miles Teller in Whiplash, Hollywood royalty like Kate Hudson and Maggie Gyllenhaal have jumped into their ski boots, with impressive indie performances in tow.

We’re probably not your first source for guidance in that matter. We do, however, think we can help make the day enjoyable without being too shallow. Movie marathon time!

Jared Leto In Love, Emma Thompson Groovin’: SAG Awards’ Silliest And Actoriest Moments

View Photo Gallery

The SAG Awards may sometimes get lumped in with a bunch of other awards shows, but the event is in a class all its own when it comes to actors either making speeches about their craft or making fun of people who make speeches about their craft. Guess which people we like best? We gathered the funniest bits here, in case you decided to watch Flowers in the Attic — or you know, go see an actual movie — instead.

Free Spirits: The Best Cleavage Styles Of The ’70s Are Making A Comeback Today

Let’s not mince words here. American Hustle, more than anything, was a foray into the many and varied ways into which Amy Adams‘ cleavage could be exposed. From spangly dresses with plunging necklines to the more humble wrap around dress, Adams’ greatest assets were consistently and brazenly on display. Not that anyone is complaining.

When Stuff Got Weird: Flowers In The Attic + 10 Other Incestuous Moments On Film

love-gone-wrong

Today the remake of the disturbing, provocative and emotional Flowers in the Attic is airing on Lifetime. The movie (and the book it’s based on) may make us shiver, but it does star a very talented cast: Heather Graham, Ellen Burstyn, Kiernan Shipka and Mason Dye. In honor of this premiere and its weighty plotline (*cough* incest central), we’ve collected 10 instances of family intimacies that have reached blurry territory on TV and in film. From sibling makeouts (ahem, Star Wars) to dads getting hot n’ heavy with their daughter’s best friend (American Beauty) — we’re taking you to a disturbing place, and we have the video clips to prove it. So brace yourself for some uncomfortable squirming. Shizz is about to get really weird. Read more…

‘Friday Night Lights’ Movie? Zach Gilford Has One Morbid Idea To Make It Happen

After years of devoted Friday Night Lights fans hoping the departed show would continue on the big screen (back where it started), creator Peter Berg and star Taylor Kitsch put the kibosh on those hopes once and for all. When we caught up with our favorite QB1 Zach Gilford this week, as he was promoting his new horror film Devil’s Due, he said he understood the sentiment that continuing the story would feel “contrived.”

Oscar Nominee Lupita Nyong’o’s Most Adorable Awards Show Instagram Pics

View Photo Gallery

Congrats to Lupita Nyong’o on picking up her first (of what we hope is many to come) Oscar nomination for her role in 12 Years a Slave. The actress has enjoyed a big few months since the movie’s release thanks to a number of honors and accolades for her heart wrenching performance as a tortured and brutalized slave. While she commands a serious presence on screen, her life off has been anything but. A peek inside her Instagram account shows the adorable side of Nyong’o as she goes from awards show to awards show, picking up trophies and new celebrity besties along the way. Oh, hugging Lena Dunham? Check! Selfies with Jared Leto? Mark it off the list.

We can’t wait to see what she’ll post at future shows and who will make her Oscars Hug Checklist. We hope it includes fellow nominees Jonah Hill and Jennifer Lawrence.

Ride Along Exclusive: Ice Cube Says There’s No Place For Kevin Hart In N.W.A

Kevin Hart and Ice Cube are the perfect odd couple in Ride Along, which follows a bumbling wannabe police officer/gamer as he hangs with his girlfriend’s protective cop brother for a day to prove he’s worthy of her hand in marriage. Hilarity ensues (duh) and most of it stems from the on-screen chemistry of Hart and Cube, whom we should thank (along with the women of The Heat) for bringing back the buddy action-comedy in full force.

After Jack Ryan: Here Are The Film Franchises We Really Want To See Rebooted

View Photo Gallery

Every couple of years, when Hollywood runs out of fresh ideas it returns to the well of franchises that have proved to be hits. However, a few are in serious updating and, with the main stars aging, a fresh crop of actors to take over the series. However, we’re not suggesting that all of them follow the Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit route and star from point zero. That’s been done before, multiple times (see: Batman, Superman).
