We’re looking a little worse for wear this morning after the emotional night that was the last Twilight premiere, but thanks to Open Road Films and our friends at MTV, we have the perfect pick-me-up for the morning: Evidence that the next Stephenie Meyer adaptation could be just as thrilling as we think Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is. As anyone who’s read The Host knows, it presents a number of challenges to director Andrew Niccol — if you get one element wrong in this alien-invasion love story that takes place in a high-tech future and a primitive underground bunker, it could be cheesy, heartless or both. But the trailer that debuted this morning provides some reassurances that the movie we’ll see on March 29, 2013, will get at least 10 important things right.
1. The romantic backstory between Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) and Jared Howe (Max Irons).
2. The desperation of feeling like you’re the last people on Earth. Read more…
Some of you kept the faith all summer long, and we should have listened to you. Back when all that stuff that we won’t talk about happened between Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, the rest of us feared that we’d never get to see what we saw tonight: Robsten — and for old time’s sake, we’d like to call them Robsten again — looking as cozy as ever together on the red carpet for the fifth and final Twilight premiere. It’s not the first time we’ve seen them back together, but it certainly was a momentous occasion. And we’re extra pleased that Kristen’s nude Zuhair Murad gown nicely complemented Rob’s green Gucci suit on the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 black carpet. Enough talking, just enjoy these photos that the pessimists among us feared would never happen.
We fully admit, after seeing what Kristen Stewart will wear, our second favorite part of the Twilight red carpet premieres has always been seeing which completely left-field celebrity shows up to declare their fandom. It would be hard to match that time 50 Cent showed up, but there were some good random guests at the premiere of Breaking Dawn – Part 2. We never caught the names of the three basketball players who talked to the Yahoo live stream hosts (even the hosts just said they were two Lakers players and a Clipper), and we’re still waiting on pics of them. But in the meantime, we present to you the other awesome non-castmembers who graced the black carpet — from Hunger Games stars (Fox Face and Rue!) to Stevie Nicks and Shar Jackson, it was an impressive collection. Mayim Bialik, we will cast you in our own Twilight film one day, we promise.
Taylor Lautner at the Twilight premiere, Kristen Stewart at New Moon and Robert Pattinson at Breaking Dawn – Part 1.
Cue the “Memories”/”Through the Years”/sappy song of choice. We are tearing up at the thought that tonight is the very last Twilight red carpet of all time, unless, of course, they decide to do that much-debated spin-off movie or, god forbid, remake these for some future generation. We’ll be waxing nostalgic all week, even as we look forward to the movie’s release on Thursday night, and we thought we’d begin with a simple look back at what our favorite stars wore to the big Los Angeles premieres, beginning with the first Twilight in 2008. Stay tuned for plenty more from tonight’s festivities!
If anything was going to convince us that newlyweds Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel had nothing to do with that horribly tasteless homeless video his friends made, this was it: Just home from their glam wedding in Italy and secluded honeymoon in Tanzania, the couple headed out to hurricane ravaged Far Rockaway, New York, on Saturday to hand out supplies. Of course, we assume that if your home has been destroyed by floods and you haven’t had power in two weeks, the last thing you care about is who the person is handing you a backpack full of much-needed supplies, even if they have perfect bone structure. Still, we know relief efforts still need every helping hand they could get, so we hope that the sight of makeup-less Jessica and low-key JT laboring away for three and a half hours inspires a few of their fans to get out there and help too. Also, this might be the best collaboration ever between Timberlake and Timbaland. Read more…
OK, we’re gonna level with you: Last month we wrote a post called 25 Reasons Why Ryan Reynolds Is Hotter Than Ryan Gosling. And doing so went against every fiber of our being. Because in reality there is no contest. Ry-Go is a force of nature, an all-out phenomenon. He’s a real life super hero who struts around New York stopping fights and car accidents, while starting earthquakes with his huge thumping heart (that happened, right?). He’s the only guy who can be a little too enthusiastic about Disney World but still be totally sexy. Does Ryan Reynolds have his own meme? We think not! So please forgive us, Ryan Gosling. We didn’t mean it, honest. We’ve even assembled our 32 favorite photos of you looking awesome in honor of your 32nd birthday today! So can we put it behind us? Please?
The rest of us get older, but Demi Moore does not. Check out the photo above for proof! The pic on the left is taken 30 years before the pic on the right? Can you tell the difference? We didn’t think so. From her 80s teen movie days (St. Elmo’s Fire, anyone?), to 90s superstardom with monster blockbusters like Ghost and A Few Good Men and most recently staring along side Miley Cyrus in LOL, she hasn’t changed a bit. Except for that bit in G.I. Jane when she shaved her head, we guess. That was pretty noticeable.
Even though the former brat-packer has had rough year with her split from Ashton Kutcher, hospitalization and subsequent stint in rehab, the lady has never looked anything less that completely flawless and fabulous. Can you believe Ms. Moore turns the big 5-0 today? We couldn’t believe it either. The actress has started partying early, hanging out in India along side Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and 200 other friends. Much nicer than last year’s divorce news! In honor of Demi’s 50th, we’ve assembled her 30 most memorable styles from through the years. Enjoy!
We are both shocked and not shocked about the bombshell: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are no longer the cutest couple on the planet, sources told E! News. They apparently broke up a week ago, but they took a page from political publicists and dumped this news on a Friday night. While on the one hand, we’re sad these two kids couldn’t work things out, on the other, can anyone be surprised that two such young kids weren’t ready to settle down forever? They’re at the peaks of their careers and looks. Besides that, E!’s source echoes the rumors we’ve been hearing about these two for months: “Because of their crazy schedules, it was getting harder and harder to maintain a relationship,” this mysterious insider said.
The pair had been together, publicly at least, since February 2011 — that’s an eternity in young celebrity time. Especially given the pressures of Bieber’s fans, both the ones on Twitter and the crazies like Mariah Yeater, who claimed Biebs was her baby daddy last year. But mostly, they had a lot of too-cute-for-words moments in front of the cameras. In memoriam of their relationship, here are 20 photos of Justin and Selena.
If you’re like us, you’ve been following this election nonstop for a while — and if you’re like us, you mean the presidential election as much as the Twi-Fight going on over on MTV. Now we’re on pins and needles waiting to see if Kate or Jasper could possibly pull off an upset against Bella and Edward. But we also think it was kind of sadistic to pit the Cullens against any of the other vampires in the franchise. That’s why we decided to make our own little contest here this week — and to make the criteria a little bit simpler: we’re asking you to judge Volturi, Denalis, Amazonians and James’ crew all alike, purely based on their hotness. This is also tough, considering the fact that in Stephenie Meyer‘s mythology, all vampires are hot. But your blood might sing for some more than others. We managed to narrow this down to 20 vamps in all, now it’s your turn! Peruse the pics and vote. Poll closes Monday at 8 a.m.
Emma Stone has packed a whole lot of career into just a few short years, so we’re kind of amazed that she’s just turning 24 today — not that she can’t keep playing teenagers! As much as we love her looks and her too-adorable-for-words relationship with Andrew Garfield, what we really admire about Emma is her self-deprecation and her comedic timing. That’s why to celebrate her birthday, we decided to gather 10 of our favorite quotes from The Amazing Spider-Man star’s interviews. We dare you not to be charmed.
