The Spectacular Now opens in theaters today and critics are already praising it as one of the best teen movies of the year and touting Sutter Keely (Miles Teller) and Aimee Finicky’s (Shailene Woodley) love story as one of the best teen romances of all time. That’s a tall order, and we hope that Sutter & Aimee join Kurt & Blaine, Bella & Edward and Noah & Allie on our list of the 20 Most Epic Teen Romances Of All Time.
Ermahgerd, memes! There is little that makes us happier than a new meme. Every time one comes up on our Tumblr dash, we do a little dance of excitement. Since 2013 has been one of the best years yet for pop-culture-driven, fan powered Internet humor, we thought that halfway through the year would be a good time to showcase a few of our favorites, including Actresses Without Teeth, Interrupting Javert, Sleeping Tilda Swinton, and our personal favorite Flower Crowns.
We think arms are one of the most under-appreciated body parts around. I mean come on, what’s better than a good hug? Oh, yeah, a good hug from your favorite celebrity. The stars are known for sculpting and toning every last inch of their biceps, delts, triceps and forearms just for our viewing pleasure. The least we can do is be able to I.D. them on sight. Do you think you can tell the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Mario Lopez, Jamie Campbell Bower, Aisha Tyler and more without seeing their faces? Prove it now!
Everything gets hotter in the summer including hot mamas! The 20 beauties on our list have a certain maternal glow that makes them the sexiest women alive.
So, maybe I’m the only one here who wore out my VHS tape of Much Ado About Nothing as a kid. In the Kenneth Branagh Shakespeare adaptation, the world first met fresh-faced English rose Kate Beckinsale, who played Hero opposite Robert Sean Leonard. Twenty years later, we’re looking at photos of the actress and cannot believe that she’s turning 40 today. Maybe that vampire gig in the Underworld movies was more than an act. Or maybe she’s had a little help. See for yourself.
Orange Is The New Black was released too late to be considered for the 2013 Emmy nominations, but the brand new Netflix series has quickly established itself to be one of the frontrunners for next year’s competition. The show, which is the latest series from Weeds creator Jenji Kohan, revolves around the travails of Piper Chapman (played by Taylor Schilling), a blonde WASPy type whose seemingly picture perfect life is turned upside-down when she’s sent to prison on drug smuggling charges. The series is drawing raves from critics and being streamed at record rates, thanks to its outstanding balance of comedy, drama and sexytimes, not to mention its ethnically diverse (and largely female) ensemble cast.
We all fantasize about the celebrity romance: a rich and handsome (and famous) man sweeps you off your feet. He wines and dines you. You travel the world. Months later, your wedding announcement is on the cover of all the tabloid magazines. That’s all well and good, but fantasizing about these 10 Bad News Boys should maybe come with a warning label.
Some celebrity couples are so legendary that we can’t forget about them: Liz & Dick, Brangelina, Hepburn & Tracy and Bennifer. But what about the trysts and romances between celebs that fall between the cracks? Just because the relationships between the celebs on our list are long over doesn’t mean that we should forget that their love was at one point real.
All weekend, we’ve been seeing some of the most beautiful stars of the big and small screens walk among the little people at the San Diego Convention Center. But now it’s time to take our Comic-Con coverage back to its roots: the fans. Let’s be serious: the attendees at this convention come in all shapes and sizes — that’s what makes it wonderful. But here we’re just gonna give a little nod to the ones that bared their chests and midriffs in the icily air-conditioned halls for the greater good.
In the new movie, R.I.P.D., Ryan Reynolds plays an police officer killed in the line of duty who must join an undead detective force of spirits. He might play an unquiet spirit in the film, but in real life Ryan Reynolds has a stare so smoldering and so powerful it gazes into MY SOUL.
Okay, maybe he’s also staring into your soul, too.
