Javier Bardem’s Hair: Skyfall Success Has Us Combing Through His Other Roles

Do Javier Bardem’s bad hair days translate to Oscar bait? We get a feeling there’s to be a relationship between Bardem’s acclaimed roles and his hairdos … and don’ts. And we’re not the only ones, now that everyone’s singing his praises as Skyfall’s villain Raoul Silva.

The Spanish actor initially gained recognition for his performance in 2000′s Before Night Falls, but it was his turn as the bloodthirsty Anton Chigurh in No Country for Old Men that solidified his spot on the Hollywood A-list and won him an Academy Award. While his acting chops proved impressive, people seemed more consumed by the bizarre bob he sported in the film — including Bardem himself. During his Oscar acceptance speech he thanked the Coen brothers for putting “one of the most horrible hair cuts in history over my head.” And the guy was not exaggerating. Read more…

Why Does Keira Knightley Keep Getting Sent Back In Time?

You may have missed this amid all the Breaking Dawn noise, but there is another beautiful book adaptation hitting theaters this weekend that we’re very excited about — maybe you can make it a double feature? Anna Karenina marks the third collaboration between Keira Knightley and director Joe Wright, after their acclaimed work together in Atonement and Pride and Prejudice. It’s also about the thousandth time a director has chosen to cast Keira in a movie set in another time/far-off place, usually in the past, with the exception of Star Wars: Episode I. Early in her career, she appeared in TV adaptations of Oliver Twist and Doctor Zhivago. More recently, she’s worn all sorts of corsets and headpieces for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, A Dangerous Method and The Duchess. After looking through this collection of work, we turned to Wright to explain what it is about Keira that makes people love to send her into the time machine.

“She has a kind of otherworldly beauty,” he told VH1. “It doesn’t feel like such a face could really exist walking down the street. And the way I see period movies is more like fantasies. Setting it in a time other than our own allows me to create all kinds of images and scenarios that might not be so believable if they were tethered to the contemporary world we have outside of our windows.

Look Back With Us At Robert Pattinson’s Amazing, Occasionally Bizarre Hair Evolution

Rob Pattinson Hair Evolution Main

Remember when he shaved half of it and let the other half sort of flop over like a beautiful chestnut waterfall? Haha, good times. Oh, sorry, we were just reminiscing about Robert Pattinson‘s past hair styles and how amazingly bizarre some of them were. How did we forget how beautifully insane Rob’s mane looked in 2005? And 2008? And then again in 2010? We prefer it when RPatz’s hair sort of stands up into a soft serve point, making him look like a chiseled GQ troll doll, but that’s just us. As we count down the hours to Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere, take a walk through seven years of Rob’s hair garden and let us know which is your favorite. It’s not the buzzed style, is it? That just goes against everything we know and love about RPatz.

Kristen And Rob Are Looking Downright Snuggly At The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2 London Premiere

Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, Rob Pattinson At the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 London Premiere

Do you think the photographer who took this photo kissed his camera for capturing such a perfect red carpet moment? That’s exactly why we couldn’t be paparazzi: our lens would be smeared with Chapstick after shooting the cuteness that is today’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2 premiere in London. While Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson were predictably stunning at the L.A. premiere Monday night, pics from today’s red carpet suggests that Robsten is feeling more and more at ease hitting the carpet together. Look at those head tilts. Adorable levels of comfort up in here. Taylor Lautner clearly agrees.

Oh, and if that wasn’t exciting enough, Kristen is straight up wearing a lace pantsuit.

Channing Tatum Is People’s Sexiest Man – 10 Reasons He’s Ours Too

Channing Tatum was named People's Sexiest Man Alive

When word first started to spread last week that Channing Tatum would be named People’s Sexiest Man Alive this year, the collective response seemed to be, “Well, duh.” This is not one of the mag’s more controversial choices, for sure. But because we are journalists (for real!) we thought we’d delve a little into why the Magic Mike star is such an obvious choice. We came up with 10 reasons for you. Feel free to tell us your own!

10. He told wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum about his new title while they were bathing their skunked dogs. We think this means it’s not going to his head, or something.

9. While he’s undeniably hot, he also has such an everyman quality to his looks and attitude that he makes guys feel like they could be him and ladies feel like they could be with him. That’s rare in a Hollywood heartthrob.

8. He’s still ambitious and plans to try his hand at directing soon, possibly working up to directing Magic Mike 2.

7. He’s into making dude films as much as indies and rom-coms. See: G.I. Joe, The Vow, 10 Years, the possible Evel Knievel flick.

6. He’s so the opposite of homophobic, he got his grind on with Elton John. And later told Out magazine that getting groped by Sir Elton was “Like any other hand up my ass, but more knightly. I can check that box now. It falls under the umbrella of doing sexual sh– with Elton John in public.”

New Girl Fashion Cap “Menzies”: “It Feels Like A Fat Man Is Sitting On My Uterus”

Last night’s New Girl was a Very Special Episode dedicated to a very important, very magical time in every woman’s life: unemployment. Oh, and getting your period. Jess might have reached her breaking point trying to wrangle PMS and job interviews simultaneously, but at least we got to see her full wardrobe of robes and pajama sets! Honestly though, we’re ready for Jess to wear human clothes again. We’ll wear the sweatpants while Zooey Deschanel wears the Peter Pan collar that gets stuck in the hand dryer, got it?

The Host Trailer Shows Us 10 Essential Elements Of The Stephenie Meyer Adaptation

We’re looking a little worse for wear this morning after the emotional night that was the last Twilight premiere, but thanks to Open Road Films and our friends at MTV, we have the perfect pick-me-up for the morning: Evidence that the next Stephenie Meyer adaptation could be just as thrilling as we think Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is. As anyone who’s read The Host knows, it presents a number of challenges to director Andrew Niccol — if you get one element wrong in this alien-invasion love story that takes place in a high-tech future and a primitive underground bunker, it could be cheesy, heartless or both. But the trailer that debuted this morning provides some reassurances that the movie we’ll see on March 29, 2013, will get at least 10 important things right.

1. The romantic backstory between Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) and Jared Howe (Max Irons).
The Host features a romantic backstory

2. The desperation of feeling like you’re the last people on Earth. Read more…

Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattinson In The 5 Breaking Dawn Red-Carpet Pics We Were Afraid To Hope For

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson at the Breaking Dawn - Part 2 premiere

Some of you kept the faith all summer long, and we should have listened to you. Back when all that stuff that we won’t talk about happened between Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, the rest of us feared that we’d never get to see what we saw tonight: Robsten — and for old time’s sake, we’d like to call them Robsten again — looking as cozy as ever together on the red carpet for the fifth and final Twilight premiere. It’s not the first time we’ve seen them back together, but it certainly was a momentous occasion. And we’re extra pleased that Kristen’s nude Zuhair Murad gown nicely complemented Rob’s green Gucci suit on the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 black carpet. Enough talking, just enjoy these photos that the pessimists among us feared would never happen.

Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Premiere Surprises: Mayim Bialik, Stevie Nicks And 10 Other Random Stars

Mayim Bialik, Shar Jackson and Stevie Nicks were a few of the random celebs at the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere.

We fully admit, after seeing what Kristen Stewart will wear, our second favorite part of the Twilight red carpet premieres has always been seeing which completely left-field celebrity shows up to declare their fandom. It would be hard to match that time 50 Cent showed up, but there were some good random guests at the premiere of Breaking Dawn – Part 2. We never caught the names of the three basketball players who talked to the Yahoo live stream hosts (even the hosts just said they were two Lakers players and a Clipper), and we’re still waiting on pics of them. But in the meantime, we present to you the other awesome non-castmembers who graced the black carpet — from Hunger Games stars (Fox Face and Rue!) to Stevie Nicks and Shar Jackson, it was an impressive collection. Mayim Bialik, we will cast you in our own Twilight film one day, we promise.

Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Premieres: We Look Back Wistfully At All The Twilight L.A. Red Carpets

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the Twilight cast at all their L.A. premieres

Taylor Lautner at the Twilight premiere, Kristen Stewart at New Moon and Robert Pattinson at Breaking Dawn – Part 1.

Cue the “Memories”/”Through the Years”/sappy song of choice. We are tearing up at the thought that tonight is the very last Twilight red carpet of all time, unless, of course, they decide to do that much-debated spin-off movie or, god forbid, remake these for some future generation. We’ll be waxing nostalgic all week, even as we look forward to the movie’s release on Thursday night, and we thought we’d begin with a simple look back at what our favorite stars wore to the big Los Angeles premieres, beginning with the first Twilight in 2008. Stay tuned for plenty more from tonight’s festivities!
