Miley Cyrus tweeted that her time at VH1 Divas last night was the “BEST MOMENT OF MY ENTIRE LIFE!” Pretty strong words but, you know, she’s got all those teenage emotions raging inside of her and sometimes they just gotta come out. We chatted with the starlet on the red carpet just before she went onstage to perform our fave song of the summer, “Party In The U.S.A.,” and asked her how she feels about her, uh, older fans. You know, us 30-year-old ladies who skip past Grizzly Bear on our iPods to rock out to our favorite tween star.
“I like it,” she told TheFABlife. “I don’t think there should be a certain age or a certain demographic of music. I think the biggest people that stand on this carpet are the ones that kids who are 6 and people that are 60 can listen to their music.”
When we mentioned that all our adult pals are super into her tunes, Miley laughed. “Sweet!” she replied. “That’s awesome, ‘cuz I probably wouldn’t be standing here if they weren’t.” [Photo: GettyImages]
After a week that started off with a tumultuous VMA night where Kanye West stole her thunder, Taylor Swift looked the picture of elegance while attending the Tommy Hilfiger show at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. Taylor was a vision in red as she took in the show and then joked around backstage with Russell Simmons. Looking amazing is the best revenge! [Photos: Stephen Mao]
Let’s discuss for a moment the similarities between Paula Abdul and Ellen Degeneres. They both love to dance. They’re both capable TV hosts, as Paula has made obvious tonight during her stint as the VH1 Divas emcee. And of course they are both members of the exclusive club known as the American Idol judges. But if you assume Ellen is the only funny one, we’d just like to point to this moment during Divas to say au contraire.
We love Paula even more for being able to laugh at herself and the entire Idol judges situation of late. Paula, dressed in a blazer and sneakers and dancing in true Ellen fashion, wished her successor the best of luck in the new gig and even offered up a sympathetic ear if Simon proves to be too much for her. Our fingers are crossed that Ellen dresses as Paula on her talk show tomorrow to continue the gag.
Can you picture yourself in the fun? You can’t always trust the mirror, that’s why a great way to tell if you are red carpet ready is by snapping your photo on the Samsung DualView and checking out your outfit for yourself on one of its TWO LCD screens before making an entrance. Leona Lewis, Whitney Port, Lauren Conrad, Jordin Sparks, and Jennifer Hudson do a Diva double check using the Samsung Dualview. It’s a good thing she made sure she was looking perfect, as J-Hud was about to take the stage! Check out our exclusive photos captured by our VH1 blogger with his Samsung DualView camera!
Ladies and gentlemen, the Divas are in the building! From Miley Cyrus’ twist on the Little Black Dress to Jennifer Hudson shimmering and Leona Lewis‘ lavender and black gown, the VH1 Divas red carpet was anything but boring. Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Adele, and Sheryl Crow hang out and have some fun with VH1 on the red carpet. No two divas are exactly alike, as these songbirds displayed with their very different red carpet choices. Adele went for all black, while Kelly Clarkson put a twist on the little black dress with her feathered shoulder. Jordin’s bejeweled dress shimmered while Leona and Sheryl went for a more regal look: Leona in a lavender gown with black corset and Sheryl in a crushed velvet dress. But Samsung DualView, who is the most fabulously dressed Diva of them all? Adele checks it out for herself by viewing the photos on the Samsung DualView’s front AND back LCD screens: the 1.5 inch front LCD screen and three-inch Touch Screen.
