1. Mary J. Blige grew up in a Yonkers housing project, but after selling 50 million records world-wide she moved just a few miles away, across the Hudson to the leafy locale of Saddle River, New Jersey. Her manse cost her $12.3 million, and inside it she likes to dance to classic Aretha Franklin records. [Photo: NY Daily News]
Celine Dion is expecting her second child! The singer, 41, and husband Rene Angelil, 67, conceived using fertility treatments. Celine’s publicist confirmed the news, saying, “They are crazy in love over the news.” The couple have a son together, Rene-Charles, 8, who “starts his first day of private school today,” according to Celine’s publicist.

Madonna celebrated her 51st birthday over the weekend in Portofino, Italy, looking her usual age-defying self. Accompanied by her children and boyfriend Jesus Luz, the pop superstar took in a boat trip with everyone wearing custom-made Madonna t-shirts (she’s still a diva superstar, after all) followed by a dinner at the chi-chi Splendido hotel.
Cuddling up to her boy-toy on the yacht, it was clear to see the couple are very much on, although we have to question Madge’s choice of swimwear. Wearing a sport vest and baggy shorts, Madonna looked more like an Edwardian bather – especially with that frilly parasol – than the ripped superstar we know she is. If even Madonna doesn’t want to wear a bikini after three hour workouts each day, what does that say?! [Photos: Splash News Online]
With a mama like Madonna, it’s only natural that Lourdes Leon, 12, loves the finer things in life. Lourdes looked chic as she vogued out of the window of her luxury suite in Portofino, experienced fine Italian dining, and swam in the pool while vacationing with her mom, her mom’s boyfriend Jesus Luz, and siblings Mercy, Rocco, and David Banda. Looks like a little Diva In Training to us! [Photos: Splash News Online]

Finally, a celebrity trend that anyone with a couple of dollars can emulate (if they really want to). Yes, unlike hair extensions, Birkin bags and expensive trips to rehab, some British ladies are rocking the home-dye look by changing their locks to a shade of purple-red usually seen on the side of a cheap home hair-dye kit.
First Cheryl Cole gave her glossy locks a dodgy color rinse, and now Peaches Geldof has followed suit. We actually think Peaches looks pretty good with the new shade – and we’re loving this new recession-era hair chic. [Photo: Splash News Online, ]
Remember those brilliant rumors of a few years back that claimed Mariah Carey used to insist on having a selection of cute puppies to pet backstage? Or was it Jennifer Lopez and some eeny-weenie kittens? Either way, it was one of our favorite examples of serious diva-ism, and now Leona Lewis, who’s one of the new VH1 Divas, has put her own twist on the formula.
The British star shelled out $100 last month to rescue a white rabbit from being a homeless man’s dinner after she spotted him on Melrose Place in LA (we are not making this up). Says a source, “She didn’t think life on a lead was any way for a rabbit to live – then when he said he was going to eat it she knew she had to save it. Now it has the run of her garden without the fear of being cooked for dinner,” it was reported.
And now it’s claimed Leona has started taking her pet bunny – named Melrose – into the recording studio with her, as the pair have become “inseparable”. Awww. [Photo: GettyImages]

Although her taste in men has been a bit rough, Evan Rachel Wood looked like a sleek fashionista when she wore this Gucci halter dress and Jimmy Choo platform sandals to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s installation luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Monday. Although at times she has accented her outfits with questionable accessories such as Marilyn Manson, Mickey Rourke, and a pussycat, this time she gets it just right with simple diamond earrings, a tennis bracelet, and a flawless French manicure. Lily Allen wants to be a wannabe, for real. Allen recent discussed a fantasy she had for this year’s Brit Awards to team up with several of her fellow divas to perform a tribute to The Spice Girls. Though the award show came and went already, we beg Lily to follow through with what we think is a brilliant idea.
Allen explained “I’d be Posh, Adele would be Ginger, Duffy would be Baby, Leona [Lewis] would be Scary and Amy [Winehouse] would be Sporty… She was always the one with the best voice.” Allen had hoped the quintet would be able to recreate the Spice Girls’ first huge hit “Wannabe” onstage. Just the idea of watching Amy Winehouse attempt a backflip in a sports bra makes us tingle with glee. Lily, please don’t give up on this idea, we would give anything to have this happen! Maybe you can bring it up again for the 2010 awards.
