Finally, a celebrity trend that anyone with a couple of dollars can emulate (if they really want to). Yes, unlike hair extensions, Birkin bags and expensive trips to rehab, some British ladies are rocking the home-dye look by changing their locks to a shade of purple-red usually seen on the side of a cheap home hair-dye kit.
First Cheryl Cole gave her glossy locks a dodgy color rinse, and now Peaches Geldof has followed suit. We actually think Peaches looks pretty good with the new shade – and we’re loving this new recession-era hair chic. [Photo: Splash News Online, ]
Remember those brilliant rumors of a few years back that claimed Mariah Carey used to insist on having a selection of cute puppies to pet backstage? Or was it Jennifer Lopez and some eeny-weenie kittens? Either way, it was one of our favorite examples of serious diva-ism, and now Leona Lewis, who’s one of the new VH1 Divas, has put her own twist on the formula.
The British star shelled out $100 last month to rescue a white rabbit from being a homeless man’s dinner after she spotted him on Melrose Place in LA (we are not making this up). Says a source, “She didn’t think life on a lead was any way for a rabbit to live – then when he said he was going to eat it she knew she had to save it. Now it has the run of her garden without the fear of being cooked for dinner,” it was reported.
And now it’s claimed Leona has started taking her pet bunny – named Melrose – into the recording studio with her, as the pair have become “inseparable”. Awww. [Photo: GettyImages]

Although her taste in men has been a bit rough, Evan Rachel Wood looked like a sleek fashionista when she wore this Gucci halter dress and Jimmy Choo platform sandals to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s installation luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Monday. Although at times she has accented her outfits with questionable accessories such as Marilyn Manson, Mickey Rourke, and a pussycat, this time she gets it just right with simple diamond earrings, a tennis bracelet, and a flawless French manicure. Lily Allen wants to be a wannabe, for real. Allen recent discussed a fantasy she had for this year’s Brit Awards to team up with several of her fellow divas to perform a tribute to The Spice Girls. Though the award show came and went already, we beg Lily to follow through with what we think is a brilliant idea.
Allen explained “I’d be Posh, Adele would be Ginger, Duffy would be Baby, Leona [Lewis] would be Scary and Amy [Winehouse] would be Sporty… She was always the one with the best voice.” Allen had hoped the quintet would be able to recreate the Spice Girls’ first huge hit “Wannabe” onstage. Just the idea of watching Amy Winehouse attempt a backflip in a sports bra makes us tingle with glee. Lily, please don’t give up on this idea, we would give anything to have this happen! Maybe you can bring it up again for the 2010 awards.

Rihanna had quite a trendy Tuesday in New York City yesterday, starting off the day shopping at Barney’s New York in a cute black and floral print Rag & Bone dress and then working it in a black strapless ruffled mini dress and animal print cuff when she partied at Greenhouse that night. Riri spent the evening celebrating her publicist’s birthday at the downtown hotspot and posed for photos with her group. [Photos: Splash News Online]
Kelly Clarkson has remained grounded even as her career continues to skyrocket, which is why she’s the most down to earth diva we know. As we told you last week, the singer is snapping back at haters in a new interview with Self magazine, saying, “‘When people talk about my weight, I’m like, ‘You seem to have a problem with it; I don’t. I’m fine!”
She also reveals her philosophy to maintaining her physique. “My happy weight changes,” she says, adding, “I love healthy stuff and junk an equal amount. Whatever I’m craving, I go for it.”
The singer, who stays in shape with Crossfit workouts, says the less she thinks about her bod, the better off she is. “For me, it’s the times when I’m not paying attention that I end up losing weight,” Kelly reveals. “But I’m never trying to lose weight – or gain it. I’m just being!” [Photo:GettyImages]
Be sure to check out Kelly on “VH1 Divas,” which will air live on Sept. 17 at 9PM EST. Tom Brady poses for the September issue of Details and tells us why life is not exactly how he envisioned it, why modeling is harder than football, and why he and wife Gisele Bundchen are just right for each other.
On modeling being harder than playing football: “When I’m out on the football field, I have so much confidence in what I’m doing. With [the modeling], I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m at the whim of the photographer and the crew.”
On life and having a child out of wedlock: “That’s not how you envisioned your life, that’s not how you envisioned having children, but it happens. Life is not living in the suburbs with a white picket fence. That’s not life. Somehow our American culture has made it out that that’s what life needs to be—and that if it’s not that, it’s all screwed up. It’s not. You go through life and you try the best you can.”
On being set-up on a blind date with Gisele: “This friend told me he knew a girl version of me.” Gisele chimes in, “And he said to me he’d found a boy version of me.” [Source: Details; Photos: Steven Klein]
As the Knowles sisters take on Japan to promote the Samantha Thavasa & Disney Collection, the sexy siblings have been dressing less than chic. Yesterday at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Solange wore an XXL white shirt with a ruffled pink skirt, while sis Beyonce sported a denim-inspired dress. While both looked gorgeous from the neck-up, we’re torn who looked worse south of their shoulders. [Photos: Getty Images]
