Miley Cyrus Earns Her Stripes

mileycyrus_stripes

Miley Cyrus is championing a certain “trend” and we’re not really sure it’s going to take off. The photograph on the right was taken in Palm Springs, where she stood out like a sore thumb. The picture on the left was taken yesterday, in Soho New York, as she walked out of a studio. So, stripes, eh? Big, can’t-miss-’em stripes. We have some thoughts about why Miley thinks she can make “this” happen.  Read more…

Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz: The Three Witches Zap The Oz Premiere

ozpremiere

Refresh your memory about Oz: The Great And Powerful here. Now you see why we were so excited when we saw the trailer? The Sam Raimi directed film is a prequel to The Wizard Of Oz with James Franco starring as Oscar Diggs, a magician from Kansas who is blown away to Oz by a tornado. Theodora, Evanora and Glinda are the witches played by Mila KunisRachel Weisz and Michelle Williams respectively, and they have the most lush, incredible wardrobes in the movie. We were hoping they wouldn’t let us down at the premiere, and they didn’t, luckily. The official world screening was held at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood yesterday and all three ladies stepped up sartorially.  Michelle — seen on the left — wore a white Prada dress with black floral embellishments dusted over it,  with mile-high slits up the side. Rachel wore a minimal, but bright vermilion Victoria Beckham gown with Jimmy Choos. But it was Mila who really looked exquisite in a taupe Dolce & Gabbana dress with huge ruby dangling earrings by Sutra and silver Christian Louboutin peep-toes. Not witchy in the slightest, but bewitching, yes.

Faith Hill Braces

Faith Hill is one of the most glamorous women not just in country music, but in all of entertainment. She made waves at last night’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles for a bold fashion decision that she made. No, she didn’t strike out against the insane fashion guidelines that the Grammy producers outlined by baring any of her “fleshy undercurves”; rather, she showed up to the ceremony sporting a brand new set of clear braces!

Vogue Hurriedly Releases Beyonce’s Amazing Cover After It Leaks

Beyonce On The March Cover Of Vogue Magazine

What is it about Beyoncé ‘s magazine covers leaking? Actually, what are we saying? Should we be surprised? Not really. This is one of the hottest, most successful women on the planet, so it’s no wonder people are scrambling to get whatever they can, before anyone else does. Does that make it right? Nope. But we see why. Bey’s ridik awesome GQ cover was leaked a month ago, and that gave some filchers the cojones to try the same stunt with her March Vogue cover. And they succeeded. The gorgeous singer gracing the magazine’s face, in Givenchy, arrived, before schedule, just as the weekend kicked in. Vogue hurriedly then released the cover officially and we were absolutely floored by the spread of pictures. Quite aptly, she’s heading the “power” issue, where the magazine states she’s a, “Chart-topper, glamour wife, style icon, filmmaker, new mom, business mogul—Beyoncé is at the height of her powers and writing her own script.” And yes, famous friends like Timbaland and Gwyneth Paltrow do make appearences in the interview. Gwyneth’s quotes are in there — talking about BeyMamma and her baby Blue Ivy — relating, “Blue was sleeping in her arms, across her body, and B was listening back to what she had been working on. I thought, This is how you do it. You do what you love with who you love included” and later in the piece, “When she is working onstage, she has more power than any woman I’ve ever seen. She would never say it and has never said it, but I feel she knows with every fiber of her being that she is the best in the world at her job.”  It’s a nice, long interview, and there’s a lot more insight into the superstar’s life,  so settle in with a nice cup of tea with your read.

Who Wore This Alexander McQueen Better: Katy Perry Vs. Emily Blunt

Katy Perry Wears Same McQueen Gown As Emily Blunt

Katy Perry had a very good weekend, sartorially speaking. This orange Alexander McQueen Resort 2013 gown is possibly the best she’s ever looked. Hands down stunning. She wore the outfit at the 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute over the weekend in L.A, where Bruce Springsteen was honored for his artistic and philanthropic achievements. But we were right in thinking we had seen the gown before. Emily Blunt wore the same gown to the attends the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards in November last year, in London. Looking equally gorgeous, we might add. While Emily had her hair up in a chic bun, Katy wore hers down in loose, lovely waves. Both ladies didn’t wear any necklaces as the bejewelled halter neckline doesn’t need any embellishment. Emily had a black McQueen clutch on her person while Katy wore bling in the form of rings and bracelets. The gown also has a sexy low back, but is it just us or does Emily’s version — seen in the third and fourth pictures — dip lower than Katy’s? Either way, we’re floored by the gown on both of them. Which leads to the all-important question — who wore it better? Vote in the poll below and let us know.
