We’re shocked that Summit Entertainment and Stephenie Meyer have yet to announce some kind of detox program to help those of us who’ve spent up to seven years addicted to the Twilight books and movies. Aren’t they worried about the withdrawal we’ll all experience once we’ve seen Breaking Dawn – Part 2 a few times and have no more Edward and Bella to look forward to? Well, not to suggest that there is anything that can replace Forks and the Cullens in your heart, but we have a few new obsessions you might consider taking up. Which you choose all depends on why you became a Twi-crack addict in the first place. Read on and then suggest your own!
If you love Twilight because of …
… its star-crossed lovers plot, you’ll love:
Warm Bodies, the novel by Isaac Marion and upcoming Summit movie starring Nicholas Hoult. Zombie R is a very different kind of undead than Edward, but his doomed love for Julie is just as epic and possibly world-changing. Dive into the book now and then look forward to the flick in February 2013.
The Hush Hush saga, by Becca Fitzpatrick. Nora Grey doesn’t know why she’s drawn to Patch her dangerous new biology lab partner… oh, sound familiar? Don’t worry, this is no knock off. Fitzpatrick has woven a very complex mythology around deadly angels and their offspring that will infuriate you with its addictive quality.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone, by Laini Taylor. Speaking of complex new mythology, don’t even ask us to explain the plot of this trilogy. Let us tell you that book one was one of the most breathtakingly beautiful reads of 2011 — there are angels, beastly creatures, exotic tooth poachers, ballet-dancing puppets and a love story that rivals Romeo and Juliet in its devastating nature.
… its gut-wrenching love triangle, you’ll love: Read more…
Bill Condon says that the vampire sex in Breaking Dawn Part 2 was “easier” to figure out than the vampire-human sex in Breaking Dawn Part 1 (yes, I’m bring you all the hard-hitting news in this post). “All we know about vampire sex is that it’s really, really good in a way we can’t even imagine. So it was more abstract.”
The director – who is an absolute delight to chat with – credits Rob Pattinson for coming up with the vampire sex scene’s most pivotal lovemaking move. “Rob had the absolute best idea for it,” he says. “He was like, ‘you know what her real erogenous zone is that I really want to start with? It’s right here on her neck, because that’s the classic place where a vampire bites somebody, so it’s the one place he’s never been able to kiss her before, because he can’t trust himself. So now that he’s a vampire he can finally attack that neck.’”
Bill adds, “It was a great way to get started.”
Um, yeah it was. Now, as Bill was telling me this, my pervy fangirl brain was buzzing between how hot it is that Rob was basically directing where on his girlfriend he wanted to kiss first in the sex scene and how sad I was that he chose Kristen Stewart‘s neck over her arm pit. But you know, beggars can’t be chosers, right?
We’ve seen the vampire sex and are dying to talk with you all about it. Let’s discuss on November 16th, shall we?
If you’re like us, you’ve been following this election nonstop for a while — and if you’re like us, you mean the presidential election as much as the Twi-Fight going on over on MTV. Now we’re on pins and needles waiting to see if Kate or Jasper could possibly pull off an upset against Bella and Edward. But we also think it was kind of sadistic to pit the Cullens against any of the other vampires in the franchise. That’s why we decided to make our own little contest here this week — and to make the criteria a little bit simpler: we’re asking you to judge Volturi, Denalis, Amazonians and James’ crew all alike, purely based on their hotness. This is also tough, considering the fact that in Stephenie Meyer‘s mythology, all vampires are hot. But your blood might sing for some more than others. We managed to narrow this down to 20 vamps in all, now it’s your turn! Peruse the pics and vote. Poll closes Monday at 8 a.m.

When Anthony Mackie first told VH1 News about his playing golf with his “homeboy” Robert Pattinson, we were ecstatic about the image of the two in their best crazy-print pants, tee-ing off and shooting the breeze, or insert some other golf-y thing here. So of course when Kate Spencer got the chance to sit down with Rob at the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 press day last week, she asked him about his game. And then Rob promptly shattered our dreams.
“I don’t understand where this has come from!” Rob said, laughing. “I’ve seen him do another interview as well. I’m like, what is this? He’s really deadpan joking about it. I mean, I would love to, but, uh. Unless this has happened without me realizing it. Which is possible.”
Oh, no! Is someone drugging Rob and placing him on random man-dates with Hollywood’s finest actors? Also, is Anthony pulling our leg about HIS ENTIRE FRIENDSHIP with Rob, or just about the golf thing? Because if those two aren’t friends yet, as the Hurt Locker also claimed to MTV earlier this year, we need to set them up. Their dry sense of humor is perfectly calibrated for each other! OR, maybe Rob is the one messing with us (and Anthony) and he’s making up the fact that Anthony made it up.
On the other hand, Rob’s “incredulous” expression is one of our favorites, so maybe more people should make up harmless stories like this:
Kristen Stewart plays a mom in Breaking Dawn 2, which IMHO, is even more fierce than being a vampire (but I’m a mom, so I’m probably biased). She totally nails the ferocious, feral mother thing in the film, and told me that it was the ”one thing in the story that I took to.”
Says Kristen, “I’ve always thought that I was going to be a mom, but so so so far down the line. I’m not the type of person that’s like, “Oh, I can’t wait!” And I’m not hugely into babies, I don’t melt over the baby thing. But there’s something about protecting your own that is just absolutely ingrained me. I know that I’m gonna probably be a mom.”
As for that instinctive protective mom vibe, she says, “I definitely felt that. It was one of my favorite thing about playing this part, how animal she gets.”
In true Kristen fashion, she responded to my compliment about her onscreen mothering skills with “Cool! That’s f*cking awesome.”
Kristen also said she currently feels like a mom to her two dogs Bear and Bernie.
More clips from my interview with the Breaking Dawn cast will be up Monday, including Robert Pattinson talking about his alleged golf habit and director Bill Condon on Rob’s vampire sex moves. Thanks for watching, guys!
Seeing Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner get to make fun of my old pal Josh Horowitz one last time is reason enough for me to hope for some kind of weird spin-off movie one day, far off in the future. This can’t be the last time! But until that strange day comes to pass, we’ll instead wax nostalgic about the live stream that happened tonight, with a look back at the stars’ sweetest moments on the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 MTV First. In no particular order.
1) “The actual end end for me felt like the end,” Rob said seriously, before cracking himself up over the absurdity of that statement. Does he mean the last scene they shot? The last time they did ADR? Or the last scene in the movie? Who cares, as long as he keeps laughing like that (see above).
2) Which of them is most like his or her character?
If any of you Twi-hards read our own Kate Spencer’s live tweets from the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 press conference today, you know that the stars of the Twilight franchise are in rare form today. And we’ll all get to witness it for ourselves when Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner sit down with MTV’s Josh Horowitz for another MTV First installment live at 8 p.m. ET. Watch along with us and share your reactions to the live stream by tweeting us @VH1Celebrity. We’ll use your best quotes (and squees!) in a post later.
For five years now, there’s been one big event that truly marks the beginning of Twilight season: The premiere of the first video from the latest movie’s soundtrack. Last night, we saw the premiere of Green Day’s “The Forgotten,” the first single off Breaking Dawn -Part 2‘s disc. It combines a lot of the elements we’ve seen in earlier Twilight videos — clips of Edward and Bella, beautiful forest scenes, that filter that makes everything look like an old home movie — while also being very Green Day. You’re not going to see Billie Joe and company strolling about in the woods, even if this song is rather emo. Instead, they’re performing in a concert and a recording studio.
Other acts have taken a more literal approach to the videos accompanying the saga. Does that work better for you than the detached concert thing, or is it all about the music? Take a look at four other quintessential Twilight videos and then vote for your favorite below.

After completing her high-fashion transformation into the heart-shaped face of Dior, Jennifer Lawrence decided to mix it up a little by losing the couture and going as a regular person for Halloween. Or she just wore her glasses and let her air dry. Either way, Jennifer stopped by the Netherworld Haunted House in Atlanta yesterday looking less like a spokesmodel and more like a senior during finals week, if that senior happened to be drop-dead gorgeous and the finals happened to be in Escaping A Terrifying Goblin 101, The History of Mutant Pumpkins and Introduction To Weird Bloody Scarves.
While many fans were on the fence about the floral print shirt Robert Pattinson wore to his first official Breaking Dawn – Part 2 appearance in Sydney on Monday, we’re pretty sure there’s no debate about what Kristen Stewart wore in Tokyo. The black and white Louis Vuitton playsuit (we love that word, btw) was both stylish and fun, showing off her assets while also rather reminding us of the chess board on the cover Breaking Dawn. We kind of want it, but in order to pull it off, we also require a few other things of Kristen’s…
