Spice Girls Who: Scary, Posh, Baby, Ginger and Sporty zig-a-zig-ahed onto the scene, becoming the biggest British export since tea with their nonsensical hit "Wannabe." Sexy costumes, friendship and "girl power" controlled the airwaves for weeks. Scandalist Rating: 3. Not content with the very real possibility of making Spice World sequels for the rest of her life, Ginger Spice (a.k.a. Geri Halliwell) effectively ended the Spice Girls when she left to pursue a solo career in 1998...until they got the band back together to rehash their back catalog in 2007.
