Avril Lavigne Shows Abbey Dawn: Monday we started off with Tadashi Shoji’s show in the tents, with an elegant collection that featured textured dresses in bone and light blue. After Tadashi’s show we headed down to 19th street where singer Avril Lavigne was debuting her line. Avril brought out celebrities such as Nicky Hilton and Tommy Hilfiger, who took in the singer’s punk-themed collection while listening to Avril’s own tunes.

After the show we went backstage and dished with Avril, who talked fashion and babies. When asked about the name for her clothing line, Abbey Dawn, Avril told TheFABlife, “I always really liked the name but I didn’t know what to do with it. I thought maybe one day, if I had a girl, I would name her Abbey. I thought it was a really cool name but then I had a clothing line so I called it, “Abbey.” How odd that Avril was talking babies, when only days later she would announce her separation from husband Derrick Whibley.
